A 52 year old man with peptic ulcer disease has been on drug therapy for 3 months and has noticed changes in his bowel habits, increasing headaches, dizziness, skin rashes, loss of libido, and gynecomastia. Which of the following drugs is most likely responsible for these side effects?

A. Cimetidine
B. Famotidine
C. Metronidazole

**cimetidine is most notorious of the H2 blockers with multitide of side effects also inhibits cytp450 {3Y4A}

You are right, (A) Cimetidine, however Famotidine has the same mechanism of action (H2 Blocker) so I'm wondering why it doesn't have the same side effects.

i believe famotidine is kind of like the "next generation", alot of time "the prototype" cimetidine in laymans terms is just "messed up" with side effects.
