I a FMG, my scores are single attepmt, 77/75, ECFMG certified, 6 months of externship, 1 months observership University Hosp, 6 months of clinical research experience from Unversity Hospital. 3 LOR's for US docs. I am intrested to go for IM/FP also plannig for step 3 in oct.
So can u please let me know my chances for getting in to residency in IM/FP.. :?: :?: any suggestions which can help to increases my chances for getting into residency will appericiated..... :wink:

Hi I am also in a similar situation as nishant365. Here are my credentials: 77(2nd attempt)/78, ECFMG certified, US citizen, currently doing research work, looking for USCE, currently volunteering at university hospital for 5 months already. no US LORs yet but plan to get from work and if i get USCE. Interested in IM/FP. Step 3 plan to take by August or September. How can I improve my chances???

mary - i replied to ur im
nishant u have extremely strong usce.. but rock bottom scores.. my advice is to use ur contacts and ask them to call the places ur interested in.. u will also have to personally call and email every program u apply as in im most probably ur goin to be filtered out.. so u have to make them look at the strong points in ur cv..
apply to as many places as u can and keep a 50-50 im/fp split. apply to mostly out of the way places with j1 or small comm places with h1..
