Is it ok to have 2 LORs written by 2 different doctors from the same department?...if I shadow 2 physicians that is. or is it pushing it? Anybody have any idea? Thanks

If that's the best you can you do, it's fine. I used two lor's from two doctors in the same department. I would say 2 US lors from the same department would beat 2 lors from your medical school, assuming it's foreign. For your home school, try to get letters from attendings that have been attendings in the US. One problem is that if you have a lot of other USCE and don't have lORS from that then they might think you did bad in the other rotations.

Well, I had a different problem....I already am getting 2 LORs from my research advisors...both of promise to be good n' effective...and I'll have 2 more lors to request from my 3 clinical rotations....since I can only include 4 at the max....one of my rotations wouldn't have a LOR to show for it... Now I don't want the PDs to think tht the lack of LOR from one of the rotations is due to a 'lacklustre' performance on tht rotation... Any ideas on how to avoid tht?

no that's fine. Of course you can't show more than four, so show your best 4 if you have more than 4 (from different places preferably). I was just saying that if you did all those rotations in different programs and then only had three letters from the same program, that would make them suspcious. You should bring all your lors to your interview, but don't show them unless they specifically ask for it...

Ok guys...let me play the devil's advocate here... ....can we carry the LORs to the interview when they are supposed to be sealed?
