Whats the basic formula for probability?

P=or lower than 0.05---> no chance of type 1 error(when null hypothesis is rejected though it is true).... it has stastistical significance.
Lower p value(<0.01).........involved in studies with large sample size.

Its best for me to give an example.
Addition Rule
If the probability of picking a heart card from a deck of cards is 0.25 and the probability of picking a diamond card is 0.25, this rule states that the probability of picking either a diamond or a heart is 0.25+0.25=0.50. Because no card can be both a heart and a diamond,these events meet the requirement of being mutual exclusiveness
