I was reading about adrenergic transmission. I understand a role for COMT-inactivation of circulating catecholamines . I do not understand very clearly what function for MAO. It works in cytoplasmic compartment and what it doing and when?
Can somebody expl pls

i am sorry i am found out this
MAO -inactivated catecholamines and produces NH4, H2O2 and converts the catecholamine to aldehyde, which may be futher oxidized

COMT-- methylates the 3 hydroxy group
