apply to im and keep fp as backup.. ur scores are good but many progs may filter out your appli bcoz of the try.. u have time on ur hand - give s3.. fp / im depends on ur personal prefernce to be a jack of all trades or master of one.. do u want fship? what kind of lifestyle do u want? are u good with peds and obgyn? too many variables to tell u2 decide ur spec.. apurva

After you apply to im, call up programs that you are interested in (and you have a realistic shot at) and tell them you are interested and that you have a 91 on step 2 ck. It might get them to reconsider your application because most programs willl filter you out without looking at your application due to your 2nd attempt on step 1. That 91 on step 2 and your gc status should get you internal medicine.. but the second attempt will filter you out, so you will have to call and obsess to get them to notice. Clincal experience is better than step 3 because you have a gc. Only give step 3 if you can score above 90's, and even then some USCE with a case report/research will be better (and give you something to talk about during interviews). IM experience is better than fp, but fp is better than nothing, so at least do that while looking for im(preferably in a hospital). Try to find an interesting case during your fp to write/co-author a case report. In my opinion, you have a shot at a community based cat medicine program... or am I completely off.. someone correct me if I'm wrong.
