hi all, a patient taking warfarin develops hemorrhagic skin necrosis. do we jump to the conclusion that he has heterozygous Protein C deficiency (a la Goljan HY), or can this happen normally since Protein C has a shorter half life compared to other Vit K dependant coagulation factors, hence gets inactivated quicker ? thanks, vikramjit

a la goljan hy, i think this occurs in the first week so one gives heparin along with warfarin and keep warfarin dose low.???
