In which of the following will you find negative calcium balance??? 1.growing children 2.pregnancy 3.old people(bedridden,persons suffering from pathological conditions) 4.lactation

I guess # 3 since it is more of an osteoporitic state

3, I think it is because the elderly and bedridden are losing more calcium from their bones than they are laying down in their bones. the contrast occurs with growing children who are laying calcium down ( so long as they are healthy) in pregnancy and lactation, their is more demand for calcium which will be mobilised from the bone and absorbed in gut. so if the pregnant or lactating mother increases her calcium intake, she will balance out.
