Im an img who graduated just recently in dec 2005
i got a 99 on step 1 and hope to get a decent score on ck which ive planned for august--first question--will i get the result in time to submit it in september?
also have cs planned for sept
Visa is not an issue coz i have a green card
however--on the LOR front--all i have are 4 recos of the very std non-specific generic type that they tend to give in india
i read some posts that mention that the LORS need to be special and specific--im already in the us tho and unsure how to get better recos now sad

What chances do i have with the same recos?
Also i will prob do a months observership in august--will that help?
Major question at the moment is how to go about selecting residency(int med) programs to apply to--is there a way to find which programs accept IMG's and which dont?
also in my situation is it worth my while and realistic to try for top rated programs?

my major worry is that im not going to be able to improve my LOR's

do advise people--any help is greatly appreciated--after all u are all my esteemed seniors! shaking head

dont sell urself anymore short than a university prog.. apply to mainly those and be ready to not compro.. i had a friend with me in a similar scenario last yr and he is in uni of ok.. and he got his scores even later than u and didnt have usce.. u will get ur lors from oship.. apply to unis which dont sponsor an h1 so u have less stiff competition.. dont be guided by location - apply to places like vermont and maine.. give ur s3 before ur residency starts.. dont go to a crappy prog and be prepared to wait out a yr and do research in case u dont match into a uni.. dont sell urself short and repent after 3yrs when u want cards..

hope ur step 3 is done soon and u get the progr of ur choice
lets see--the battle continues..

btw--u like doom and max payne--hey u really ROCK!!!

regds Pink Floyd however--the "we dont need no education" springs to my mind when confronted with these exams--lol

dont mind my crazy posts thoh.. i just do it in case i have to get a daytime job as standup comic act in case this mle thing doesnt work out smiling face
