ok, ended biochem today but want to repeat biochem and do as much qbank q's as possible tomorrow...
khorshid, soon you gonna have an 'active life, working, meeting new people, experiencing new things' ... very soon. we are walking a path thats not walked by manys. we could stay in our home countries where we already are m.d.'s and have a secure life. but we decided something else, something new... and it'll be worth it.
that reminds me of a quote...

Thanks Jaide, you're right, good things don't come easily, GL with your studies too. Falcon I really liked the marc twain's quote, it's so true, because already I'm feeling that way about the time gone, ...are you done whith your biochem Q's?
It's sunday morning, it's raining like crazy, but I love it, yesterday was not a real good one study wise, so today I should do a lot, today I shoukd finish all anatomy Q's in Q book and go over kaplan once more to make sure that I'm really done with it. Biochem is at last finished, but before starting Q's I need to go over the metabolism section once more, because I had done that section nearly a month ago...so first I'm going through anatomy, then if any time left maybe biochem...
yeah , it'll be worth it

hello Khorshid and falcon i had been silently reading ur journal for last few days, u r doing great......seems to be really football crazy,well my prediction is brazil win WC with Germany, Argentina and Italy playing semis but my heart is with Germany.

hi drbin, thanks for your note, as for your WC prediction I agree with you...yesterday I did 4 chapters of neuro but then in the evening I lost all my energy and concentration and I didn't work the rest of the day. today I started with neuro again, it's going on smoothly ( neuro was one of my weekest areas back in school, but now I seem to be enjoying it) , the fact is that these days I am walking on a fine line , a moment I'm studying really well and I am strong and the next I'm suddenly so depressed and I feel the only thing I really want is to be with my friends and family again, so today I am really trying to be careful, I don't want it to be like yesterday, I am even dreaming of finishing neuro tonight ...GL for all of us.

khorshid, i'm finished with studying biochem in FA but then i did qbank and sucked. i try to do more q's... FA is not enough i guess, i ordered kaplan lecture notes today, hope it'll help me. need a break now, will do embryo and microbio later.
what was the title of your prep-journal? 'i should do much more, i know!' ... nothing truer than that...

i think brazil will win. they have not been playing too well but they have been winning their matches!!! i was not happy with the second goal against ghana.

the last few days were not good at all, my mom was in CCU back home for an episode of HTN and chest pain, and eventhough everybody kept telling me that she is really ok, and there is no need to worry, but I had this awful headache all the time, still have it a bit. She is better now, I think tomorrow she'll be back home, but the frustration I experienced these days was really bad, all I kept thinking was that I am not near her, I am far away...
Anyway, I finished Neuroanatomy, I did 50 anatomy tests yesterday and I did kinda awful job there.
 But I keep telling myself that today is a new day, and it will be a good one, I want to do histology and embryo, and maybe some qs...and to be honest I feel so tired mentally, that I try to be kind and understanding with myself.
Falcon wish u GL with your Sat plan, and eventhough I liked argentine a lot, but Germany tried so hard for this victory so congratulations.
GL for all of you studying out there.

hey khorshid, i hope your mother is doing fine. thank god it wasnt something serious. she'll be home tomorrow...everythings gonna be fine and you can concentrate again on the step 1.
i didnt study much as well, friends came this afternoon, we went outside to the public viewing place in our city and watched both matches, it was so hot and i drank too much beer...but... i enjoyed it!
thank god your mum seems to be fine now. HEAD HIGH now and keep on studying.

Hey falcon, thanks, yeah it's time to get back to studying...I bet yesterday you really had fun, I don't know in which city you are, but if you're in frankfurt I know that the big screen in the middle of the river should be amazing...

yeah saturday was big fun, i am in düsseldorf but here is also a big screen in the middle of the city centre - sunday i didnt study and i am so used to watching world cup every night that i felt yesterday like an addict on withdrawal not beeing able to watch any game...
i received the kaplan notes on cd pdf today ( got them for 10 bucks from someone in the us ). i will start with micro bio in it today...
i'm waiting for your report. the next couple of weeks we are laying the basis for our further life and we really should do our best. then we will achieve a great score, it is NOT impossible. reminds me of the adidas advertisement...

hey falcon, I really liked your last paragraph Yeah, we will do great!!
Yesterday I did only half of histology, not really good, but better than nothing...I haven't found my pace yet, it's always like that when you loose your rhythm, even when you don't work for a day, it takes a bit longer to find it back. so today I'll guess I'll go to the bookstore cafe to study, hopefully it's not that crowded.

yesterday i studied in the university library, today i'll stay home. bookstore cafes are also good idea - the bookstores in my city havent cafes though. but i did that too with my studypartner when i was in the us studying for step2 cs.
PLAN: microbio today and tomorrow in FA and LN
WC: GER-ITA 0:2 ... now that germany's out the party seems to be over here...

yesterday at last I did some good work, I did 50 pages of kaplan microbio, and a few pages of FA neuro...today I am a bit nervous, and I am not exactly sure what the reason is, it is related to the exam and it is not, it is related to many things I guess, some of which I am unaware of...it's 9 am, I am going to the cafe, plan for today: microbio ( kaplan), neuro FA...and I really shoukd start doingQs.

no need to being nervous, okay? you seem to study well and you still have time ... i myself just try to study from day to day and i try to achieve as much as possible everyday, but we are no robots... we are humans with feelings and i think it's quite normal that we feel nervous from time to time before such an exam.everybody ho takes the usmle does. it's also normal wtaht we have some days where we dont study that much, we need also breaks...
i've been through it ( did step 2 ck and cs )
no need to worry you're doing a good job...just keep on

thanks falcon, yeah it's tough sometimes, but we'll do great...how is your immunology going on? yesterday I finished bactriology , so today I'll continue microbio, let's see how far I can go and hopefully I'll do some Q's... I really like what Picasso has said:

I don't know why I can't finish virology, anyways today I should finish that and do some more microbio , yesterday I did some Qs, it's funny though, I always end up with the same results, whatever the topic...

virology is my biggest headache. i know just herpesviridae!!! and i know the prions!!! i will just memorise them a couple days before the exam cos i keep forgetting which are linear and which are not.
