If the stucture of pennicillin appears like a house, with a garage, with side chain, and methyl groups on the side of the house. where does beta lactamase attack.

a) the house

b)the methyl groups

c)the side chain next to the garage

d)the garage

look for th N uniting the wall of the house with the garage. basically the roof of the garage is the target(c-n) bond

fast, you got it but my diagram shows the c-n bond is the floor of the house. and the c is double bonded to a oxygen

I think c-n bond is the floor of the garage

as long as we attack the correct group

i used figure v-1-1 from kaplan pharma but mrs shows otherwise...i hope its not an important detail

i meant as long as we can identify the n unitting the garage to the house, trace the c with the double boned o with it.
