TARGET u aren't the one lagging behind the most think of ppl. who haven't even started.! Listen Plz. get urself throughly checked 'coz u don't want to keeep falling sick believe me. U won't believe me but I was sick yet again! It's crazy....never thot there would be so many infxn in US.
KG. Don't take USMLEWORLD yet finish all the other material. Quick read whatever u miss or second guess or end up with 2 choices with then do UW to see where u stand. Finish Biochem quick so u can join the anat batch for systemwise study. U sud be done with biochem in a week...if not under...keep u informed and we'll drill u.
FOCUS will talk with u on the fone omorrow for further plan, glad to know u are still with me.
ANMELIE am totally confused with ur schedule are u doing a third read...u better give a clearer update. Please don't forget that anat is LY and path and pharm the major chunk of test. So finish it quick.
UNIQUE use USMLERx An. is right. Listen plz. don't spend too much time with Embryo...it's wastage of time....finish by Wed..alright...u'll thank me later. Do some qs. on thursday.
KAMYABI u can do embryo in 2 days flat...it's not so bad so plz. take the 2 days out and get done with it.

Zade, you are most welcome to join us . I have done 11 chapters of Embryo and will continue from Tuesday on.
Keepgoing, you can also finish Biochem fast and join us as mytime suggested.
Target, this pain does not sound good. Please get a full check up soon. OK then let's start the race from Tuesday.

Hi Friends,
I am doing Pathology as I told you guys last time. Going at a slower pace. Have been little behind the target because of a much awaited break. Friday went to a park with family to have fun with them.
Well, for studies, I am listening to Goljan audio and reading it from GRR followed by mcqs from Qbank. I am thinking to squeeze in Goljan HY and webpath in the available time. Its so much to grasp that even after reading it I feel I can't retain it. Doing mcqs makes me feel little comfortable though I am scoring very low I guess 40-50% on Qbank. I have it in printed format. I am also taking Underground clinical vigenettes to work and in between patients I try to read them coz they have some additional info too.
I see you guys are doing very very well. What is your plan for system wise study? How many subjects will you do at a time and in how much time you intend to finish second revision? Do you plan to add FA too this time? Also. did anyone else register?

good news guys.... i finished anat.. starting neuro today.
1st, will take a break n do Qs on micro+immuno frm kap qbank (loooong overdue) fr some time.
but guys.... i have to beg leave frm u till 27th... my next post ll be on 28th. Plz don't be angry at me... can't help it.
mytime, focus... sent u a pm each.
unique... try usmlerx fr topicwise qs...
n target... stop soaking urself in hot tubs n show ur tummy to a good doc. u owe that to urself Get well soon..

hey everyone.... im bac to report ..
will do histo today...as it is the one thing i always put off... its not high yield and thats y i think this is the rite time to do it....then i wont pik it up again until way later...
did finish pharm btw...also did a cursory skim of fa....pharm section...
so all in all..progress slow but steady...
im so happy to see all of u at it... unique.target.mytime.anmeli,zenith,okotb,proc,kamyabi,focus hope im not forgetting someone...oh..yes...of course..seems and indi....hope u guys r rocking the boat...

Good morning everyone,
Everyone is doing a great job at study front as well as posting regularly. It is awesome.
Unique and other Anatomy doers , I am finishing up with my left overs in Pharma. Hopefully I will be able to finish Pharma today .
I have also done 11 chapters in Embryo and will start from chapter 12 tomorrow InshaAllah.
Will report tomorrow . Until then happy studying everyone.

INDI trust u to make it even more confusing. Since we are all following some schedule let's just continue here, where we can refer back and discuss.....u get to keep hopping....bunny!!!!!!

KAMYABI i hope u finish up too. How the weather now? Snow still melting? I think i like it here......a few days of freeze then sunny.....CRAZY though! Come summer will want to move in with one of u guys!

OK Myself and FOCUS are starting another leg of systemwise..with Endo today. Since the rest of the gang has long ditched us and INDI joined in today. U tell me what all u have done this 2nd time around. U plan sounds good. I'll also be picking up all the extra material I have to see how much i can recall.....and what I can't will just re read that!
PRO Did u ever get ur work done? How are u and what are u upto? Tell me how are u going about ur second read? Systemwise or subjectwise? And how much time u are spending on them. How's the scoring coming up. U need to write one long pm to me...long overdue. Good luck!

wow - this thread has been pretty active since i last logged in............everyone seems to be in full swing - good to see that.
target: honey, so sorry to hear about your your problems. for the neck, try the exercises that i had mentioned a while ago. for your stomach pain, please don't ignore it - go see a doc. hope u feel better soon.
unique: thanks for the offer dear - i would love to do Anat with u guys. i was supposed to start it last week, but couldn't. i'm still stuck with anti-microbials and the section on CVS+Renal drugs in Pharm. if target thinks she's the slowest, then she's definitely wrong. i'll try o finish anti-microbials in the next couple of days - till then u guys finish up with embryo and then i'll start the next topic with u. by the way, i have HY only for NA, so i plan to do the rest from kaplan. apparently, kaplan has only 4 chapters in embryo - how come HY has so many chapters? i remember u mentioning that u've done 11 chapters of embryo and still have more to go. is kaplan that bad/incomplete w.r.t. embryo??? please let me know. r u also watching the DVD's??

mytime: can't wait to hear your new exciting plan.........i really need help............please mytime......only u can do it..........why am i so inconsistent with my studying? i really need a concrete study plan. please make a plan for me. like i mentioned, i still have 2 sections left in Pharmac and all of Anat and Path to do. i'm so scared - wonder when will i finish my first reading???????????????????????????????????????????????? i realize i'm not the only one here who works full-time. when ppl like oldkid can do it with a hectic schedule, why can't i do it?? and i just figured that even zade works full-time. gosh, i need to speed up - i can't take forever to do 1st reading...............what do i do????????? week days are crazy and weekends are normally spent getting entertained or entertaining someone - thanks to my hubby who's very social........ughhhhhh............i need to work on my time management!!

mytime and unique, thanks for welcoming me into the study group. As i said earlier, my plan is to take the step 1 in june/july. i have started reading kaplan ana lec notes& noticed that cud remember most of my anatomy & scored quite good on q book(considerin i didnt touch anatomy for 2 years), so since path is my worst subject, i decided to start path & get it out of the way instead. Im hopin to get a good 4 or 5 readings for each subject overall & am definitly aiming for an over 95score, as i would like to surgery as a residency!!!!!!!!
Plan is to finish d hard subjects(path,micro, pharm) 1st & den do ana, physio,biochem. my goal so far is to finish 1st readin of pharm, path, micro by 22nd FEB. will have to see how it goes, as im going to start micro and pharm this weekend.
my time- u were sayin something about a schedule, is there already a preassigned schedule for the study group? if so, can u tell me where i can find it.
Also is there anyone in this group aiming to take step 1 in d summer?

Zenith, don't worry dear. I am also left with almost the same as you. That is Anatomy and more than half Patho .
Kaplan has given only early embryonic period in those 4 chapters. Orgenogenesis is given with gross anatomy of every system. Mytime highly recommended HY and I also like it but people have good opinion about Kaplan too.
Mytime and Focus, when will you disclose that plan of yours ??

HEY ZENITH Listen don't be scared...it's alright u'll do it! Maybe just take a bit longer.
About kaplan EMRYO..the first few chaps. are general rest is systemwise with GRoss. I read both. HY is written systemwise but only embryo.Put this add in ur add. bar and see. www.sendspace.com/file/6hvj5y Maybe u can download from there.
About Pharm forget antimicrobials for the time being...do it when we revise micro. Do Diuretics and hyperlipidemics. Then read CHF and anti-anginals. Then antihypertensive and anti arrythmics. U won't remember much this time just read it quick and make some notes. So u need 3-4 days to finish this. Don't cook for a few days.....tell ur hubby no food till u finish up..or he's welcome to cook or order. No party for this weekend if u don't finish at least this...Learn to reward urself...that helps.After that u can do what I'm doing.....it includes everything except Micro...immuno and B.sc. and biochem.
DR MS SURGERY...ehh? That's good...aiming high even better. My plan is to do Qs. of whatever system I decide...Today is anat....but since anat is not available systemwise am just quickly reading specific topics...like histo and gross related to EDOCRINE organs. Tomorrow for me is path qs. related to endo. then next day physio and next pharm. The reality check comes in when we have to read the topics we messed or nearly messed from the text without reading the explaination..then doing the same qs. again to reinforce till u get it absolutely right...this will be true for all subjects...systemwise so we learn to jump the steps in the real test with ease. If someone hasn't done a subject they read the subject that day and do qs. the next day...but rest is same. At the end of the week we do qs. from a source like BSS and that time the entire Endo gets covered in one go!...If this doesn't get results....what will???????? Also plz. post everyday...so if u are not studying we'll all make sure u do!
I'm hoping that everyone follows this plan as it's will make us study over and over again till we perfect imp. stuff Like ASKDOC talks about.
OK..ANMELIE where are u now? Sick or on another HM????????? I want to see apost from u asap.

Still on patho. Looks like an ocean. Doing approx a chapter a day but still lagging behind schedule. Listening lectures, watching slides side-by-side, reading their explaination and the text. Lastly, doing mcqs from q bank.
I couldn't cope with you guys coz you seem so organized in ur studies and i am having time zone difference, work related schedules and weekends are also different. I am reading your posts daily. Carry on the good work.

Now I am confused 
Mytime, according to your advice , I am supposed to finish Embryo in 2 days , which means 45 pages a day . Now if I do Pathology Endocrine today ( which will be my 1st read BTW ) which is 32 pages . It is 77 pages altogether .  Plus lectures plus questions. In your opinion how many hours would it take ?
I want to be realistic in setting my goals. Your plan is very nice but I do not find myself able to follow it at this stage of my studies. I will keep a record and will follow it in may be my 3rd read. At this stage finishing my 1st read is the aim.
So I will read 45 pages of Embryo today ( at least will try to read )

Mytime, we are having very nasty kind of snow . Not the kind which covers the roofs and tree tops and you can sled and play in it ....... but the kind which covers the roads with a thin layer and makes them slippery
Zenith and Unique , thank you very much for your encouragement . I also wish a great KAMYABI for each and everyone in our group.
Mytime, as Unique said, I also like your plan . I will also keep track how you go system wise and will follow it in my next reads but for the time being finishing one read with good unerstanding is important .
Everyone who is on their first read , I got a mail from our favourite askdoc today. He advised me to read every subject with full understanding and do not worry about memorizing at this point . So let us try our best to finish our initial reading with full grasp of the concepts.
OK then , 45 pages of Embryo it is for today

Good Morning friends,
Mytime: as promised i am reporting yesterdays progress.
I dont mean to confuse things but doing endo subject wise was not working for me, so i made a little change of plans for myself. Did Hypo & Pitutary(anat,physio,patho,pharma) got things much better then. next is Adrenal,Pancreas,& all.
The next systems are 1 big systems without subdivisions so will do them the same way as planned, actually this came out to be different.I hope u wont be mad.
Unique,Zee,Target,OKOTB,Anmelie,Indidoc,Kamyabi and the rest of the friends......i hope u guys catch up soon.
Target........did u go to see the doc? what did he say?........r u ok now? I hope u are dear
