Hey guys,
Hope everyone is fine and is back to books after the weekend.
I was trying to study pathology for many days but finally today succeeded to start with it.  
I am doing Cell Injury today. Goljan's lectures are great . I guess his 500 pages notes go with his audio. I have not got my rapid review yet.
Oldkidontheblock as you advised, I am doing his slides too. I am not sure if I have all his lectures  May I ask you how many lectures in Cell Injury do you have???
I have 2 and they seem to be incomplete.
I will try to do 5 pages of Pharma daily from tomorrow. I am enjoying reading patho so I guess bitter pill of pharma will be easy to swollow mixed with it.

Hi friends,
Nice to be back to studies after the weekend.
I have to do some MCQs in NA and embryology before proceeding to the next subject.
Not quite sure of when. Deadlines come and go, but work remain undone. Therefore i will take my own time to finish whatever i decide to study.

mytime and rashmi dunt worry ,u ll be soon in form ,some days r just not meant to be a waste. but i m sure u ll do good now. soem times the days that we think got wasted they push us to go a head and do well. really when i waste a day or two then i feel like studying more on the 3rd day out of guilt. so u ll do good dunt worry.

So Rashmi , you are done with patho. Wow !!!!!That is great . Oh yes you guys are always on my mind while eating yummy food every night I remember the good old days when mom used to cook and I used to enjoy but .....I am the mom now and it is my kid's turn to enjoy
My time, don't worry dear . You will get out of this . I could only start reading yesterday after a long procrastination. As seems says, there are the days .... some less productive and some more. How is Surya doing???Love to him.
Yes seems, now I know you . You study good for a few days and then go to sleep mode only to bounce back in a day or two . That is your pattern of study and if it has been working for you until now I am sure it will work for you in future too InshaAllah.Good to know that you are starting Pharma. I plan to do a little bit of pharma every day as I cannot take it for more than an hour  Hope it works
Proctalgia , you are doing great I wish you GL with whatever you decide to start next.

Thanks UNIQUE1 and Seems...u are absolutely right.in fact i did study yesterday...It's just that memorizing and then checking urself out takes longer but then...it'll eventually help i know...Wonder how ZENITH is she hasn't written for that matter neither has TARGEt...i want to keep this short as i want to be able to tell u that i'm done soon.So good luck and thanks friend...Surya is doing much better thanks to ur support ...i tried ur tricks and ones OLDKID had mentioned way back...everything is working for now...potty training is not.U guys are such a gr8 help....

Hi Friends....
I am doing Patho as usual. Yes Unique I also have 2 files for Goljan. The thing is that most of the lectures go with his slides and also his notes so when you study you keep open the slides and listen to his lecture simultaneously following his notes in RR. Some of the chapters are given in the same file for eg Resp contains GIT as well though its labelled Resp. Best thing would be to go through his slides first after reading the chapters and then listen so you will have an idea which slide is he talking about.
I am happy to see posts from mytime , proctalgia, seems, jaide and rashmi after a long break. Ramadan Kareem means blessings of Ramadan. Its a common greeting for people living in Arab countries as we used to say in Urdu Ramzan Mubarak.

What about b--- Here the ECF will increase as a result of water retention. Will there be a swelling of RBC and thereby compensating the expansion in ECF. I am not sure.

ya water retention but comparitive cellcount sud decrease...even if swelling takes place it'll eventually burst the rBc................so D...is the only one.

How are you doing guys??
I am done with cell injury and started with inflammation but could not do pharma yesterday . Will try again today
I was wondering that cell injury lectures look incomplete and found the 3rd cell injury lecture in inflammation file. When he integrates things together, I realize how much I have forgotton especially from immuno I realize that everyone on the forum is right in saying that we need quick repetitions of all the subjects to integrate every thing.
Anyway, I hope every one is doing good
My suggestion is that in the beginning of every month, we should post our goals for the month and what we accomplished / not accomplished in the previous month , to keep us focused and have a sense of accountability . What do u guys think

hi guys,
howz everyone doing? mytime: thanks for remembering me - i've been meaning to write for quite sometime, but to be honest, just haven't had the time. something really urgent has come up and will be keeping me busy till i guess end of October.
initially, i thought of putting my studies aside for about 15-20 days and finish that other task, but then i thought getting back to studies after this long break will be very difficult and unproductive, so i've decided to study and take care of this other business alongside - it might take longer to do each of these, but at least i'll be in touch with my books regularly.
progress so far is not very good - still have the last 2 chapters left in immuno and also have to practice some Qs. gosh, i've never felt so hard pressed for time as i'm feeling now. so little time and so much to do...........but instead of cribbing, i'll make use of whatever time i have!
seems: u're doing great girl - howz pharmac coming along? did u do FA along with kaplan, for immuno?
unique: i like your idea - may be we can follow it - starting Oct.
oldkid and proctalgia: u guys are going great guns!!
rashmi: kudos to u, babe - finished path already??? thats some achievement.
got to rush.......next couple of weeks are going to be crazy for me, but i'll try to be regular on the forum and most importantly, i'll be in touch with my books.

Thats the girl Zenith !!!! Keep studying and let it come whatever comes in your way. It is really very hard to get back to books once you stay away from them for a few days.
Mytime, I am not doing any qs other than end of the chapter qs in Kaplan. I am waiting to finish my 1st read before doing some other q source. I know my 1st read is taking for ever but patience is also the part of the USMLE game
Did you start biochem BTW??
Oldkid , When are you coming to Canada??? Enjoy your Ramadan in Muscat . I still miss my Ramadan in the Middle East . The way they change the work schedule is highly convenient . These days everything is messed up with me as kids and hubby have their regular work and school hours , I cannot have enough sleep during the day and my plan to go nocturnal during Ramadan is not working so far

Now my progress........Finally managed to force myself to read some pharma. Revised Pharmakokinetics . Surprisingly it was not that bad after all 
In pathology , I am continuing with Inflammation today.
I will be busy tomorrow and over the weekend but will try to come on line . Even if could not post , will be reading posts from you guys , InshaAllah.

hey guys,
here we go again.It is going to be Path from today. This is long overdue.But Glad to put my hand on it at last
Zenith I feel the sameway. Too little time to do so many things I do not think it is a good idea to be away from books for any length of time. Best is to take care of daily life along side with studies.

Unique. Your feeling about forgetting immuno when you are doing path is not abnormal at all. Path being the subject of intergrating with other areas like immuno and biochem, we will have a chance to expand our knowledge now.You will be ok, I am sure.
