Hi Friends
Thanks for remembering me and for those nice words. Well, studies went to zero suddenly. I think I needed a break. I am on Gross and have started again from Abdomen. I hope to finish rest of it in one more week. I wish to start patho hoping to finish it before Ramadan. I hope you guys are doing well. I will try to be more regular.

Hey guys,
Here I am !! Glad to be back in my USMLE family .
Thanks Leprikhan, Mytime, Rashmi and Proctalgia for your good wishes and prayers . I really need it. I feel so much blesseed to be the part of this caring group. I know I can share not only my studies but all other problems with you guys and get all the love, care, inspiration and motivation I need. Thanks a lot each and every one of you.
Alhamdulillah , my kids are doing great now. I was so much exhausted after quite a few sleepless nights that today I caught up some sleep after dropping kids to schools . I am feeling fresh now and hopefully can pick up micro tomorrow from where I left ,i.e Microbial Genetics.
Good to know that almost all of us are moving forward , some fast and others slow. Faster ones , way to go , keep it up !! Slower ones , every step matters , if you are steady then slow can also win
Guys and gals in slumber/hybernation , time to wake up . Just say hello to us and tell us that you are with us.
Will cya tomorrow InshaAllah , hopefully with some progress to report . Till then enjoy learning and keep your eyes on the goal . TC

hey guys
how r u all. .hows is it going . im soo addicted to this site i realizes it in these 2 days, i cudnt study a word today was frustrated wz the computer. this forum is my motivation , and today i needed it specially cz i wasnt feeling too well .
anyways i wasnt able to post cz the internet connection was down cz of thunderstorm and rain.
i didnt study anything today ,but yesterday did parasitology, and startded virology,did it frm FA and now kapaln. i did it half way,a nd then i dunt know what hapened today i cudnt study a word ,. the weather was sooo gloomy todayor may be it was just me  .
hope everyone is doing well,and u guys bettr be studying .
all u mums r too busy wz ur kids school han  .
i know we have to ,kids r like taht cant blame u guys.
but we have to do this, and the sooner the better.
u guys take care
and plzzz pray 4 me and study well

Feel great to be with you guys.How is it going with you?
Reporting my progress.
Just finished mechanism of hormone action,anterior pituitary system and adrenal hormones. Hope to view video of kaplan tonight. May be I need to have a look at the FA notes as well??? Manyconcepts demands a good understanding of biochem too.So
I had to spend additional time refering biochem notes.
Wondering what to do next

Hi guys.loooks like everyone has been at it..good!
PROCTALGIa...we are around the same place.It's just that i'm not doing FA right now...maybe in my second read.I'm trying to do brs though.....Next i think will be anat..as hopwfully it won't take much time and it'll be a usbject done..followed by biochem and micro....
What do u think?

Everyone off for the weekend I guess 
Boy O Boy , oldkidontheblock was very right!!! Microbial genetics is giving me tough time . Will listen to the lectures tomorrow , hope it will help.
Long weekend, hubby and kids are planning a lot and poor me stuck with microbial genetics   Will try to finish micro on this weekend ( at least I can dream)
Hope everyone is studying hard . Mytime and proctalgia , what are you planning to start next?????
Any one for Pharma in September ??

Hi Friends,
Yes mytime the break did help and now I am back into mood of studying. I have decided to finish Gross and leave Neuroanatomy which I will start in Ramadan after I finish Patho. So I expect to start it in a few days time.
Unique...how is your child now? I think you better discuss that chapter with your hubby this weekend. Are you planning for pharma or anatomy?
Proctalgia...where are you now? I think that if you have already done bio and physio, I think patho would be a better option for you.
Seems........so where are you now with microbiology?
Hope to see you guys posting more frequently....

ok....as for the rest of my extended family.....
its september!!!!!! ok now is the time to get serious....for those planinng the 1 quart of 2007 ...chop chop folks!!!!!
my progress is goin good by my standards..done with heamatology...much simpler and easier in brs..since it gives alittle background info..goljan is good...but u have to listen to the lecture to really grasp concepts...oh well...
on wards....today im gonna do git,hepatics and respiration...

Hi everyone,
Jaide your qout is motivational as always. The air castle one was the pick of the lot though.
How is the weekend gang????
My husband has to work the whole weekend due to some emergency to the doctor on call So all the plans are canceld and I am home with kids. It is continuously raining and cannot do any outdoor activities . Thinking of taking the kids to mall tomorrow.
Now today's progress......Finally done with microbial genetics and drug resistance. Will try to get done with micro in the next two days.
Oldkid... I am thinking of Pharma next. This was my weakest subject in college and when I passed it , I thought it was over for good but ....I didn't know I will be doing MLE one day
Anyway , I want to take it as an opportunity to know my stuff better than before. I hope I can do it . Please guys I need a lot of prayers . You all are in my prayers and I wish all our dreams come true soon.

Hiiiiii my familia!!!!
Howz everyone doing??? I am sorry for being disappeared for such a long time.. It was being extremely hectic week with my internship and school!! God.. I cant believe I survived.. But the bad news.couldnt open the MLE books for past 5 days.. bad me!!
But I am back again.. gonna give max efforts on this long weekend!
Well... after going through lots of advices on this forum I had ordered rapid review path book. I received it and I will be trying to finish at least first 15 chapters from this book...
Questions!! hhhmmm.... didnt do much. Just tried to finish one path block from kaplan last night.. and referred answers back to rapid review... I found almost everything in there.. I am glad that finallly I got something really good... So... finishing this book till wednesday is on my agenda!! Hopefully I will finish it up!!!
How are you all guys?? mytime, Unique, seems, proctalgia, target, zenith, leprikhan, jaide, oldkid doing?? welcome rashmi.. I am sure you must have gel with our family by now...

A FEW LESSONS ABOUT TEAMWORK
From Our Friends, The Geese
Fact 1: As each goose flaps its wings, it creates an "uplift" for the birds that follow. By flying in a "V" formation, the whole flock adds 71% greater flying range than if each bird flew alone.
Lesson: People who share a common direction and sense of community can get where they are going quicker and easier because they are traveling on the thrust of one another.
Fact 2: When a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of flying alone. It quickly moves back into formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird immediately in front of it.
Lesson: If we have as much sense as a goose, we stay in formation with those headed where we want to go. We are willing to accept their help and give our help to others.
Fact 3: When the lead goose tires, it rotates back into the formation and another goose flies to the point position.
Lesson: It pays to take turns doing the hard tasks and sharing leadership. As with geese, people are interdependent on each other's skills, capabilities and unique arrangements of gifts, talents, and resources.
Fact 4: The geese flying in formation honk to encourage those up front to keep going!
Lesson: We need to make sure our honking is encouraging. In groups where there is encouragement, the production is much greater. The power of encouragement, which is to listen to one's own heart or core values, and to listen to the core values of others, is the quality of honking we seek.
Fact 5: When a goose gets sick, wounded or shot down, two geese drop out of formation and follow it down to help protect it. They stay with it until it dies or is able to fly again. Then, they launch out with another formation of geese and try to catch up with the flock.
Lesson: If we have as much sense as geese, we will stand by each other in difficult times as well as when we are strong.

Hey guys , I am glad to tell you that I finished micro today .
Kids wanted to stay home and watch movies , so we cancelled our trip to the mall ( will have to go tomorrow though ) but for today I took this opportunity and was pleasantly surprised to find myself done with it.
Now next is my most dreaded subject .............PHARMACOLOGY......
As proctalgia says , I love to hate this subject. My Lippincott is not here yet. I hope I will get it on Tuesday. Will try Kaplan in the meanwhile. Please guys/gals who are done with one read of pharma / recent grads / pharma was your strong subject , please advise me how to study it, what to do and what not to do .
Dartikaz and mytime , nice to hear from you . Good luck with your plans .

Hey, Pharma is your next target.Go ahead and take the bull by horn.I am sure you will learn to love it though you may hate it at first.
Mytime. You also did that. Physio is over.Fantastic.I am couple of chapters behind you. Your progress is motivation factor for me . Keep going ,I will follow you.

Hi Everyone!
Well KEEPGOING this is the nicest encouraging thing I have ever read. Indeed its very moving to people like us who have gooseflesh on hearing the word USMLE to take lesson from the geese. Thanks a lot for sharing it was encouraging.
So friends my progress is that I have almost completed Gross Anatomy and now I am thinking to give 4-5 days to finish Neuroanatomy. I was wondering if someone could suggest me that is the video for it worth watching? Rest of the Gross Anatomy, Embryo and Histo I think I didn't feel to watch it. Infact, I would suggest you guys that when you start doing Anatomy section keep a good book with plenty of diagrams in it like Langman for Embryo, Wheater's Histo Atlas and Snell's Gross Anatomy. I miss all my books back home in my country. I have decided to borrow these books from a library which is like 50 km from my place. It really helps when you go through the figures and read the text. KLN diagrams are good but not enough.
MYTIME: Congrats on finishing Physio. Yes, you will feel that you didn't retain anything but believe me this is why physio is so different though you THINK you don't retain you DO retain it coz you didn't memorize anything rather understood it. So just chill and relax it is there. After one more revision you will be comfortable with it. What is the next subject you plan to attack?
How is your son's ear now? Did they do a C/S swab of the pus and what came out? S.pneumoniae I think is the commonest pathogen?
RASHMI: Are you into Patho or Physio? Are you referring to the Goljan 100 downloadable stuff given in the HY Downloadable section of this website? I think better would be to go through the 500 Rapid review series and download Goljan slides so that you can look at them as he talks about the stuff.
PROCTALGIA: I hope you are almost over with Physio. Did you do FA too side by side? What subjects are you left with and when you intend to write the exam?
UNIQUE1: Congrats on finishing Micro finally. So you did both the books which is indeed a big thing to do. Which one would you keep as your permanent one? Well as far as pharma is concerned on the contrary this was the subject which I loved to do. All you need is to memorize it like your ABCs. Again once you achieve that you will be more comfortable coz these crammable subjects on the doomsday will help you in time management. You know BUSULFAN causes pulmonary fibrosis no beating about the bushes (It was tested) so cram it as best as you can. I used to play with my friend and we used to ask each other minor details of a drug and he used to say " yes its on third page of the chapter written in the last line...mmm let me tell you" and this is how we remembered. He had completed his residency long time back. Although i flunked but still pharma was my favourite subject on exam day.
DARTIKAZ: Its nice to see you posting after a long time. I know you are busy and mostly studying on weekends. What is your test date? I love to read in libraries but sadly there aren't any around here.
SEEMS: How is your micro going? You haven't posted I hope you are done with it now. What is your plan next?
JAIDE: What date in the first quarter of 2007 are you applying or have got already?
I wonder where is ZENITH, LEPRIKHAN? KEEPGOING: How is your studying going? Sorry if I am forgetting of any other friend now.

Hiii you all!!! I am sure everyone is doing great!! Its nice to see us all together after a long time again!!! Its sooooo true that if we lose the track its tough to come back again and post something!! I completely agree with it and recently I have gone through it... So.. guys plzzzz make an effort to come in here and post whatever you did that day... firts thing is its just better way of self realiation if you are lacking in something... generally we always get the inputs from the guys around and judge where we are going.. and mostly we always get the encouragement to take further steps!!!! So.. no matter what I am gonna hang in here... Being around with the family is always the best thing!!
Well... yesterday wasn't really good.. I could hardly manage to get two chapters done from goljan patho..bad me.. I had this class assignments to submit so was working on that( 1/2 is yet to be done)... Then I came home and baked the cake for myself!! Yeah!! Its my b'day today... So thought will enjoy with cake and some wine!! I hope by my next b'day I will be landing in where I am dreaming of!!!
The words were really inspiring keepgoing... thanks for posting them in here...
oldkid.. I havent decided the date yet... lets see how far I can go.. my slot ends in dec.. so.. I am targetting in oct-nov... lets see what happens!!

Hey Guys...
Just sent my hubby and son to the zoo..so i cud get sometime with my books......Need to do questions....anat..is my next agenda.
Firstly...let me wish..DARTKIZ a very Happy Birthday and hope all ur dreams come true this year...........Today also happens to be my best friends birthday so i kinda can guess to the type of person u are and know that u are working very hard even with less words.
KEEPGOING... that was amazing..thank you so much from all of us...It makes sense i guess i'll not fret over my Physio anymore...leave it for the next time.
UNIQUE1 wow...u did it..that's good...malls going to be fun today..tel us what u buy.
OLDKID thank you for ur wishes andu keep going....i'l turn to u when i need help with anat.I take my son to the ENT specialist tomorrow and he'l decide upon a date for the procedure then we'll know the bug for sure...uptil now it has been 12-13 bouts of infections..this time antibiotics are not working..any guesses why?
PROCTALGIA well thank you..ur saying that i motivate u is my motivation.....I actually just leech on to this symbiotic family..so u know.tomorow i'll finish embrology....well lets see.
JAIDe...how are things at ur end?Which G.Brook albumn any idea?I'd like to listen to it.

Oldkidontheblock , thanx for the advice about pharma study. So Pharma can be someones favourite Well, my husband also says that pharma is very interesting I admit that in my college days I really did not pay attention to this subject . I hope if I put my heart into it then it will treat me well too
Today I read pharmacokinatics from Kaplan. Will read it again from Lippincott when it arrives.Did not watch the video yet.
Mytime , gone are the days when I used to enjoy shopping . With three kids, each one of them having their own demands , getting hungry, needing to visit the rest room, shopping becomes just one more chore to do .But thanks God things are getting better now as my elder ones love to read and now they are big enough to be left at the bookstore.
Sorry to hear that your son is having repeated infections. Hope the bug can be diagnosed and treated..........So how is Anatomy treating you ??
Dartikaz ,proctalgia and oldkid....good going You will be there soon . Keep up the good job guys .

hows everyone.
i had big planes of finishing micro in the weekened , i was happy cz it was a long weekend. i thought i wont go anywhwer ,i yold all my friends and hubby.
so enjoyed on saturady and thought will study on sunday and mnday.but sigh!!!!
i didnt go anywher but ppl came to visit us. they r freinds very good one ,we had fun but u kno wthe studyies cudnt be continued.
so am back wz books now. lets c .
i hate my self when th eweekend goes just like that wzout studing, but really i dunt know something or the other happens. anyone have any idea ,can anyone guide me abt this ,how to study on weekends.
i think getting married has its own advantages aand disadvantages,ppl expect frm u then.
