HI,
Iam also IMG starting to study, I am a stay home mom , its hard to catch up wih kids but I am trying hard, I plan to stert with PATH, LET ME KNOW IF SOMEONE WANTS TO MAKE A GROUP,I am studying BRS and GOLJAN REWIEWS, Iwill appreciate if someone has better suggestions regarding books, Iam planning to do kaplan lecture notes, Iwill appreciate if someone could advice regarding study material, also comment on web prep by kaplan.thanks

Hey guys i'm doing the question bits of respi.right now...maybe will start renal tomorrow..they way i'm going.

ZENITH I'm so sorry to hear abt. ur dad....and now ur mom's illness.Will pray for u and God to give u strength.unique has 2 kids..the 3rd was her husband.... now that u have taken a respite from studying come back to it...even if only to do a few pages.
SEEMS I hope u are feeling better now.Such is life....we all have to learn to move on.
JAIDE, SHRUNT..........WHERE ARE U NOW?hope FLOWMETER is doing good.
DARTKIZ, COOLSUCH.....haven't heard from u in a while...Howz the studying coming along?

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Guys!! Love ya all!!! Howz it going on??? I am sorry.. was damn busy since y'day.. Loads of work and classes and hospital.. uff... But guess what... I did all the Qs right in my stat class tonight! That was cool!!
well... yeah! lets get back to the studies... Thank you soooo much mytime, proctalgia, oldkid, zenith, target... You all are just awesome! I feel like MUST studying so that I can get back to you all with some output! This is my Familia!! You all rock big time!!!
So.. whats the plan for tonight? I am gonna start studying Neuroanatomy now from HY book.. Lets see how much time will it take.. I gotta leave for the hosp at 6:30am tomorrow.. But will try to get as much as possible before my eyes shut down!
Thank you God for being with us all!! We all need you to make us stronger, to show us the right directions, to overcome any negative thoughts, to brighten our days with the thought of You being there for us!! And that will help all of us to succeed with our 100% honest efforts!!!

First of all , warm welcome to rashmi verma. It would be very nice rashmi,if you can tell us a little more about yourself like everyone has a brief introduction on page 31. This is a wonderful group and you sure will find a lot of support here. I cannot tell you about pathology as I have not done it yet. I am sure , someone in the group will leave their opinions here.

Proctalgia, I like your phrase " love to hate pharma " very much as this is exactly what I feel about pharma.

Zenith, you made me blush as usual  by praising me so much. I doubt very much if I really deserve such a praise Thanx a lot dear.
I am very sorry to hear about your dad and can understand how you feel about your mom. Dear, you are not alone . I remember focusmle once posted in our thread . She is in a similar situation. When someone posts the struggle of their moms , it always fills my eyes with tears and reminds me of my own mom who worked hard for me and my bro. Now my mom is also half a world away from me . Dear zenith, if we get thru this mle thing , we can make our moms proud of us and would be in a position to see them more often and can get them better care . My mom always keeps my photo under her pillow. Anyways, this is life , it goes on , never stops.

Welcome first of all to rashmi. Well I have started off with anatomy, Histo to be precise from KLN. I think videos are useless again. I have High Yield too and I was wondering what are you guys planning to use for Anatomy...I think both are equally rated....Can you guys comment on it?

Thanks guys for giving me a warm welcome, Iwill post somei nformation regarding myself, I did my M.B.B.S. and M.D. obgyn, from DELHI , INDIA, also finished my senior residency in DELHI. I am happily married, my husband is practicing internal medicine in United States, I have 3 kids, 8yr, 5yr, and 1 and half yr old(very handful boy). I have been a very bright student in college but last few years have rough, I had been very busy with kids and dealing with mothers cancer. I am just starting to get in touch, but I was delighted to join this forum, its really a support.I guess for me, biggest factor will be time, I will be able to study 4-5 hrs a day, I am trying hard guys, besides being a busy mom of young children and praying to GOD to help me and help everybody in the forum.

Thanks mytime, it seems u are on line, I really appreciate yur encouragement, I really needed that, I am ready to beat all the odds, I am really thankful to GOD that I came to know about this forum, I was feeling lost, Ireally donot know anyone who could help me which material these days everybody reads, I need some guidance regarding study material, I was thinking of web prep course by kaplan but its only for 3 months, I need atleast 6-8 months, regarding books I am starting with BRS and GOLJAN REWIEW for path, I donot know about kaplan path lecture notes, as I donot hear good rewiews , I am starting path haemat, I will be happy to exchange phone no. too if someone wants to study and discuss, also I will be interested in buying kaplan lecture notes, if someone wants to sell
once again thanks everybody and mytime for sharing yur thoughts with me , it really keeps u going and u feel like a family specially if u are an IM,

Hey rashmi, it is so much encouraging that some one else with 3 kids is also ready to take this challange
As you told that you were a bright student , then this journey will be relatively easy for you and I am sure that you had read big text books including Big Robbins during your college course.In this case , what I understand from other peoples reviews and exam experiences, Goljan and BRS along with webpath should be enough for you.
Have you looked on ebay for the kaplan notes???
On this forum , in prep journal section , go to waqas tariq's journal . He has posted links for the kaplan notes and I guess audios too.
I am sure you will prove a great study buddy and a source of inspiration for all of us in the group.
Mytime, you have also joined zenith in the conspiracy to embarrass me with all your praise But thanx dear, your encouragement keeps me going.

Rashmi verma , You are welcome to the forum. As unique said I hope you will be a source of inspiration to us in the forum.Regarding Kaplan notes, I bought them from ebay(-not the latest vrsion ) You too can try ebay.
Oldkid, hey man, you have taken plunge into Anatomy. How is it going?Are you reading Kaplan notes? Some say this is enough because you do not get a lot of questions in anatomy.what is ur experience? I have Anatomy book from BRS.It has a detailed account of clinical scenarios with each chapter and seems to be a good book to me.
I am halfway through Respiratory physio.Trying to finish by weekend.

Yes Proctalgia, I have taken on Anatomy from KLN and they just seem enough. The videos are useless again. I compared the stuff in HY with it and found the material ok. Yes Anatomy is not very much tested but it is tested though and I think the content is enough for the exam. By the way, Proctalgia when do you intend to take the exam...I just forgot about your plan..
To all the other members the new ones and the old ones, keep studying, posting and motivating.

welcome aboard rashmi ,u ll feel good here, the people over here amazing. u for sure an inspiration for all of us ,keeping up with resposibilties towards ur family and continuing the fight against USMLE at the same time is great. u guys rock really ,who can manage this, same goes to unique.
hmm i think the only consistenet people we have r unique ,oldkidontheblock,mytime,also proctalgia, but i keep on coming and dispearing.
really guys i was doing well fo rfew days but then whenever a break comes my cycle just breaks and its very difficult 4 me to collect my self then .
i m still at bacteriology ,though i did it frm MMRS, but some how i cant just finish it frm, kaplan i hate the tabular form ,its too short.
and guys guess ,GOD knows why i feel really sleepy now a days ,i just cant stay up ,the more i sleep the more i feel sleepy, can anyone plzz help.

Oh well! here we go again........am done with the renal gi and acid. have a lot of qs. pending so am postponing the endo read.Also..my brs has come by after me buying it again.So i guess have to go tgrough that as well.

anyway, howz everyone doing? i'm moving on with genetics - thought of finishing it by this weekend - will try my best..........
talking of the rodents, thank God, they r gone or at least i would like to believe so - will test it today by keeping some nuts on my kitchen counter-top coz whatever this creature is (most likely, its a squirrel) - it sure loves nuts!!!!!!!

Hey guys,
Hope i am not being rude by posting to this thread. I see you guys have a close knit group which is very supportive. I recently gave my step 1 and never made it out on the other side. A sea of expected emotions is overtaking me for the past couple of days and before it completely drowns me, i would like to move on. Thanks to "OLDKID" who gave me the inspiration to keep moving forward. That said, i was just wondering if you guys had room for one more in your family. If so, what are you guys studying and is everyone keeping in touch? How are you guys managing this as a group study?? I want to give the exam again in november/dec or maybe im just being too overzealous. I have a lot riding on my shoulders, especially my parents who are looking for my support and each and every day i sit here useless and wihtout a degree, i feel like i am killing them inside. So I have to get this pathetic exam out of my way. If anyone can get back to me, it would mean the world. Thanks so much. May GOD be with each and everyone of you and mey he grant you immense success and happiness.

Whatever happens don't evr berate urself so much that coming back to the start becomes tough.........U like most of us here have some problems...but we each have to carry our own burden and then do what we have to do coz live moves on and so must me.
I'm not going to sympathizes with u...it'll just bring u down deeper...that is one thing i'm learning in this forum.U are most welcome to consider us ur family but we will not allow u to feel so lowly about urself..so like i have said it before buckle up for this roller coaster ride...with us.
U can start wherever u need to...your weak subjects....If u need to know where everyone is right now in their studying..go to page 31 of this form..we areal a little ahead of that.So u can turn to anyone for help....or just post ur problem here also ur daily progress or lack of same.....
Don't rush anything..start studying then see how u score in tests and then set ur exam date.....Haste Makes Wate.

You are more than welcome to join our group. Mytime has very well said that first of all you stop feeling low about yourself. Life is all about falling and then standing tall again.
Most of us have to have our share of ups and downs in life. We must embrace pain and burn it as fuel for our journey.Calm yourself down , make a realistic study schedule and stick to it. All our good wishes and support will be with you.
Rest of the group , good to see that almost all of us are moving along. We could be slow but we are good as long as we are moving.
My bugs are like stuck to me. I really want to get rid of them as soon as possible but I guess it will take me about 4-5 more days . Still last two chapters to go and seems like I would not be able to study the next two days as there are many other things to take care of , over the weekend. Let's see how it goes.
I still cannot decide what subject to start next , Pharma or Anatomy
It would be nice if anyone in the group is planning to start any of these two subjects and I can join her/him.
Target, Jaide and Shrunt we would love to hear from you
Keep moving towards the goal guys. I know all of us have our own set of problems but remember, trouble is only opportunity in work clothes.
