Anmelie, you are awesome! I am so proud of you - newly wed and all. You should probably mention your hubby's reaction to the "99" and how you celebrated it ! I guess you are the first 99 on this thread.........you give hope to everyone here.
Sorry I did not get back immediately because I was scared to see the thread.........!! Really.....!Shwe....thank you for you concern and advice - I am touched. Zenith I know how you feel and I am sorry if I was an pep to quit studying for now.....but you know what you have done very well over the last year ..........way ahead of me with a full time job. I cant believe it is May again next month, a year since I moved to Iowa and started my prep for USMLE. I feel the same way you feel........that studying little by little in bits and pieces is not helping any.......for eg. I read really good in Jan and finished Physio in two weeks.........then since feb me and Rohit have been falling ill one after the other.......plus let alone pressure from everywhere.....it was just easy to quit.
Now since I have taken USMLE off my mind, I feel so much relieved and destressed I should say - I really feel I gave so much importance to this exam for the last 6 years that not studying everyday created a big guilt in me. Now that I see the exam from outside my world - it really feels like " not a big thing" at all. We have done medical school and did pass our exams - so this shouldnt be any different - we just attach too much to it ! Chill out for a bit, try to do best in your work (just as I am now) and be happy ........then this exan would appear like pebble instead of a looming mountain.
All the others, mytime, jaide, unique, anmelie, seems, kg, nnl thank you so much for being there. It means a lot to have you all around. So I am going to not quit totally but work on it little at a time and when I am up to it and not fret if I didnt have the time or energy. Deal??!
Bug of the day sounds inviting.......I will try to keep up with the group. . OK one good news in 2007 in my life, so far other than anmelie's 99, is I won a travel award to go to Toronto ($500) for the Endocrine Society Annual Workshop (125 were nominated from around the globe). A ray of hope .....in my life too ..........there is still a flicker somewhere within........that USMLE will be one day my past someday.
Love you all and I am sure waiting to hear a long list of 99's from this group.

Hi Friends,
I have been reading posts irregulary because of my time constraints . I just finished Biochemistry from KME. I have official confirmation of ecfmg of jun-aug slot, I am freaking out I have now approximately 3 months to face the DD. I will be needing your support and valuable advice apart from mytime's whip !
Target: Nice to hear from you again. I hope you will continue with USMLE. If you can do PhD, USMLE is no comparison. 
Anmelie: Thanks for you advice. Every word from you is precious for people like us.
SSS: I hope she does extremely well on her CS. What about her step one then?
Anyone heard about Proctalgia? Where did he go? 
Mytime: A bug a day is a good idea. I am starting Micro and I will be going at my own pace to finish it. But I will specially emphasize on the bug mentioned daily. How long do u intend to finsih all the bugs before they multiply?
All other friends: Study hard and try to make the best of your time, hopefully we all will succeed eventually with good scores.

UNIQUE : Thanks a lot, I am surprised you remembered it. Today no study in the evening coz we have plans for dinner.
MYTIME: Bug a day is a good concept. It can relax my schedule a bit. Do you intend to do all of Micro like this I mean bact, viro, fungal, para this way...how many days do u think it will take to finish it this way? I am thinking of switching to Immuno so I can do Micro this way.

I know how it feels , when exam duty is off your shoulder at the 1st moment , when need it for a break . I've did it for my last yr of busy FT job too . But by that time, I tried to read clinical or any , if time permitted , just not seriously . Then ..Target ... build up your energy, happiness back , Toronto trip will be like vacation trip .
Then you'll back to all at normal speed . Focus your day job, at the job, do not think about the exam, but at home do not think about the work , at least doing the bug, anatomy or any non-heavy, non -thinking study subj for you.

Bravo. When the date is here, that means gole almost there , so , be as usual study & forget about the all word related to freaking etc negative. Use every min count as good study time.
Dear friends & to myself too,
Panic , anger, guilt, sad , unhappy all should be last time we said here. Once you've get those like, yesterday I'vr tried mix Q , my score varies, average only abit more than yrs ago before study. Off cause I really panic which comes from nowhere before I've noticed yesterday , now back to normal. But as I said , once panic is in, it like to cling, grow on you. So, don't ever start any of those I just mention.
After thinking... I had not & I haven't study continuously & off & on, non seriously, that the reason, I know, understand all, but some ans just like not there , cause no review at all yet. Just tried finishing all LN, watching video.
So that's the reason my score not as I like yet, now , I know I am seriously now, also studying continuously, so , the off & on study will still pay off. I will able to do fast, sit back & relax, just watch the show , dvd .
Oh, one funny, all my luck guess, including, no clue at all, even calculating, immuno [do not get it still from kap] all correct & 100%. Hope those ... LUCK will be with me, all of us in the exam room. Who knows
Enough post here , will copy this in my journal , to save time, or double post . Will do it now on ,copy & paste, all of few in other posts.. mine, all friends here & there.

hi everyone, wow.. so much happening in the group dont kow where to start, guess i'll start with the sad new.
target and zenith...do you have to go?well i respect your decisions, you guys are old enough to know whats right for you, have always admired your strength just like a lot of people in this group with one commitment or the other who have bee able to study,you guys have been ma source of strength cos i always thik if they can do it then i dont have an option,but do you have to go???well may be you guys need the break,clear your head and hopefully we wil see you soon, but please drop in often, cos you sure will be missed.
anmelia,hey girl your a star what a way to start.big congratulations,well deserved expecially after getting uw for honeymoon,am sure you will get a proper one now if you already havent  ,well this is just what the group needed, a good boster at least goes to show the exam is doable.thanks girl.
now for me, thanks for all the wishes, actually the anniversay is on tuesday, so might be a book free day for me, have my doctors appointment in the day and then at night will have to devote it to him, he has suffeed enough usmle induced neglect.
yea took my cs on sat, and thanks for all the wishes even though i didnt inform you guys,i had to go underground for a couple of days, actually the initial plan was to take it late may after step one cos of my eligibility which was to end soon, but you know i sat down and thought about it, didnt feel it was a good idea taking such an exam towards my due date considering a lot of moving around would be involved, decided to move the date backward,and sadly the only date i got was less than 2 weeks away so i had to give it my all. am glad i took that decision cos really by the 8th encounter my waist was hurting badly, just recovered this morning.
for the exam proper, it went well i thought initially but after the night i guess the normal thing is i have remembered all the mistakes made, wrong differentials, this and that... but what can i say what has been done has been done all i can do now is keep my finger crossed my head back to step 1 and wait for the result,i know just 1 or 2 people in the group are preparing for that step now so wont bother yu with the details but if anyone has any question will be happy to answer.
now am back to my books, back with you guys and did i not miss you guys well now have to make up for lost time, exam going to be moved to the initial time i planned to take the cs, going to take it one week at a time and report in accordingly.this write up getting too long right? well will stop here now .will write more later.

We are a group of ppl. from different parts of the world and striving towards the same big goal.
Slowly u'll get a hang of everyone...........GL. The guys here are NNL/INDI/OLDKID...rest are the ladies......some moms ,some not some work some not but again all trying to get into a residency by 2008. One pregnant mamma..........the one who took CS and here waist was hurting.
On this page we are mostly congratulating each other on something or other coz we have known each other long......So have fun....c u around.

Been in one of your Q, subj discussion not long ago, that you do soooooooo good at that anatomy explaination, correlation, integration, that I praise you & request you to have your own new big topics for teaching, elabrating of more in all subj . You're so humble that , say you're just a guy , junior , so may not comparable to , we senior .
That is showing that full cup never make noise or restless or boosting . Just be very full, content , humble though , v. young & v. bright, talented, intelligent .
JK , here , we post , support , motivate ..re; our progress too, educational or social .
Also push to study , best is MT , she can give you a veeeerrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyy hard time in a good way with the very good cause , good heart , if you're not studying, not progressing or , no show for no reason . Do not think you'll need it .
You'll see the twin of this thread , mainly all Q & A with good explaination ...ie , seeking study partner for step 1 , the one with alot of pages , not the newest one . You can post, discuss Q there .
Here we post the schedule, plan, progress, ask for help, books, etc we use , how , then use in the way of your way & hhere way into the way of with your very best interest way. Also we found , same city buddy here, surprisingly, happily .
Some ends up pair or group or on line or phone buddy for study together or not. Still alot in solo , but tag , stay along here, so can relax, open up if you like at the high & low time.

hi guys,
finally mustered up enough courage to get back to all of u - my life is so incomplete without this group. practicing in this country as a physician is a dream i've nurtured for a long time - though at this point, it seems very distant, but i know one day i'll get there - its only a matter of time.........
first things first:
anmelie: i wish i could express how happy and proud i am of u - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!  
it was such an encouragement for me - i mean, newly married and studying for this exam - i'm sure it was anything but easy.............you have proven that if we set our minds to it, its very doable.
target: it was soooooooooooo good to finally hear from u and congrats babe for the travel award - see, u're so smart - there's no reason u can't do MLE.............take one thing at a time..............i'm doing the same...........ever since i decided to postpone my plans by a few months, i feel so de-stressed and feel like i finally have my life back. lets at least do one bug a day with MT and the group, just so we stay in the loop - what say?!
mytime, shwe, unique, KG and sss- thank u so much my dear friends for all your encouragement. mytime, count me in for the BUG A DAY plan.
shwe: GL for your CS - when r u taking it? and thanks so much for your kind words. my biggest mistake was that i told everyone at work that i'm preparing for this exam and of course, there are very few people in the world who actually want you to grow - in the corporate world, everyone is out to pull u down. so my boss and other senior colleagues started making things difficult for me..........anyway every dog has his day...........
sss: congrats on getting one thing out of the way - GL for your result and Happy Anniversary in advance - may you have many more years of happiness and togetherness.
i'll try to post every now and then, but will be doing the bugs everyday with u guys.

You're welcome Aim . Will pm you soon . CS is just to start ahead , but step 1 is still the main thing, so you can still tag along with me, since I am back to anatomy, patho, now CS in this few week only , later may be physio , Behav, bio chem to pair with then Q , so
anatomy could be with all those . By itself anatomy is boring for me .

Hi everyone,
Nice to hear from aim 99 and from the rest of the folks. SSS and old kid - congrats and have fun on your special days! Shwe I will be going to toronto june 1st week -would love to meet all the canadian threadmates if possible.
Mytime as zee said you are "God sent". I currently would like to do the bug but am doing the taxes..feels like I am into math exam after a long gap since school days ..I know, so promptly before deadline of day after tomorrow....yeah right! Atleast I dont have to pay anything.......But I promise to catch up.
Jaide, oldkid, sss ( you are so cute and determined .....I can almost imagine you seeing all these patients with your little belly and broad smile!!), anmelie, unique, nnl (who deleted my repeat post  which I couldnt delete and felt helpless -thanks!),proc (wherever you are , you are being missed)...kamyabi, jok - hang in there, we are each others strength.
