the new baby will not have it because the affected x is from the patient's mom

  #8

liwei mothers also transmit the disease, esp here that the sex of the baby is unknown if it would be a boy, he can show a full grown Fragile X syndrome. So I wonder isn't it a case of breaking confidentiality because it can affect someone's life severely?!!!

  #9

the new baby shoud not have increased chance of having this disease than normal people since the affected X is from the II-3 (not II-1) who has no genetic relation to III-1

de novo mutation is not necessary ManuNasti as the is incmplete penetrance in Fragile X synd. especialy in Females because of X inactivation (randemly) .. respecting confidentiality is a good choice actually the best answer..
best of luck all..
