Hi guys. I heard about this forum n' I wanna share it with ya all. I am an 2005 IMG fro a small country, seeking J1 visa, with 98(258)/99(261) and certified. I have 4 months USCE, 2 months observership and 2 publications one in a local journal and one published in a very prestigious US journal. I also do have 4 US LORs, one of them is a very outstanding letter (one full page) from a well known, division chair in a very reputed US medical center. My school is not that hot shot. I say that because I stayed in US for a long time last year, I worked in 4 different schools. I noticed that some schools like Aga Khan-Pakistan, American University of Beirut-Lebanon, Royal College of Surgeons-Ireland, 2 schools in Israel, 1 in Peru, 1 in Germany and few others are highly rated. I have applied to about 60 categorial IM programs. Though I have applied very late, I have been invited so far from UT Southwestern, UT Galveston, Uni. Arizona, Uni Conn, CCF in Florida, UIC, Cook County, Uni. Louisville, Hennipen, Henry Ford, Albany Medical Center, East Tennessee University, Seton Hall University. I have been rejected from about 10 programs. Finally just want you to know that IVs for IMGs peak in the first 2 weeks of October and first 2 weeks of Novmber. Yes you may say that I am lucky for these interviews but one last thing that I have payed about about 18,000 $. Yes 18,000$ for exams, electives, observership, unpaid research, travel....etc. good luck to you all.

if iv's dont pump up once the mspe's are released...i think im done ..... i applied to 65 patho programs..but most of them were univ......very little comm prog have path residencies.... i certainly hope this trend saying that uni hospitals review their applications later is true.......
