pre-attack behavioral patterns. Which of the following is the most likely diagnosis?

A. Acute stress disorder

B. Adjustment disorder with mixed anxiety and depressed mood

C. Major depressive disorder

D. Panic disorder without agoraphobia

E. Post-traumatic stress disorder

Answer is B

I don't understand even after reading the explanation. Can anybody offer a concise explanation?

id say acute stree disorder . I think its under 6 months compared to post traumatic stress. [an example of Post traumjatic stress disorder is the soldier who returns from war who is hyperreactive and "shell shocked"] hope this helps a little.

Acute stress disorder is less than one month. PTSD : repeatedly re-experience the ordeal in the form of flashback episodes, memories, nightmares, or frightening thoughts, especially when they are exposed to events or objects reminiscent of the trauma.

so it is B coz no FLSAHBACK THAT IS KEY WORD

Adjustment disorder: Emotional symptoms( anxiety, depression, conduct problems) causing social, school,r work impairment occuring with in 3 months and less than 6months after a serious(but usually not life threatening) life event(e.g., divorce, bankruptcy, changing residence)
