Hi, everybody, if I wanna check I am eligible to take the exam or not, do I have to apply an examination first? Can I just send the copy of my credential and tranlation to ECFMG, and ask them to verify it first without applying an exam?
Because I haven't decided my eligibility period yet. If I apply an exam, I have to tell them my eligibility period, right?
I called ECFMG, but they said they will not verify my credential without an exam application.
In their information booklet, I do see the following information:
If you are submitting medical education credentials to ECFMG separately from an exam application, you must send the credentials to the following address:
Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)
3624 Market St., 4th Floor
Philadelphia, PA 19104-2685
USA
As well, on the form 344/345, I found "if you are not currently applying for an examination, send the forms and document to 3624 Market St., 4th Floor"
Anybody has the experience? Plz help.

"
this means that some people apply when they are under-graduates. at that time they dont have their medical school diploma/degree. so they will be applying for their exam with out the credentials. and after that when they get their credentials when they graduate, they have to send the credentials to the above address seperately (even though they are not applying for any of the steps)
so it is a must in order to get credentials verfied , you have to apply for any of the exams
