Hello What would you advise me to do - should I type or should I hand write? I am a little bit faster typing, plus it looks more legible ( I have awfull handwriting - it was a prerequisite for entering Med School - just kidding).

I was having the exact same problem before my exam. I couldn't decide, but finally I know that I have to stop thinking about it. I decided to make a decision after I walk out the room from my first case. For me, I think I am not slow at typing, but not super fast. Handwriting is probably a little faster. What happen to me is I finished my first case before 15 minutes and I thought I had enough time to type. So I decided to type. I think I made a right decision. It's more easy to go back and read and it's not messy. However I have a friend who decided to handwrite and he practiced that way. He also passed. I think the bottom line is do whatever you feel comfortable. It doesn't matter as long as the content is good.

akachan Thanks a lot for your reply. How far is the computer station located from the Stand Patient's room. Is it right outside of the door or do you have to go to a common area? My concern is that if the patient vitals are located only at the door than I will not be able to review the vitals if I have to go to some computer terminal far away from the room where I just exited from. Thanks for your time and reply

It's right in front of the room. It's the same table to sit whether you want to use computer or handwriting. I went back to look at the vital sign once, but usually I wrote it on the blue paper. good luck!!!
