Hi all, I have finally got my score- 244/99! I did not in my wildest dreams expect this! I have my mother and family to thank. My girls 2 and 6, have been so good through all this. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I have described my exam experience in the following post- http://www.prep4usmle.com/forum/thread/33708 I used Kaplan notes and UW for 2 months. I spent 3 months- usually 6-8 hours a day. I scored 60% in UW and 65 % after repeating wrong questions. In the Kaplan simulated, I scored 72% (I think) and in the qbook about 76%(70% finished). I did not do NBME forms. I did atleast 4 readings of the Kaplan notes. In the last 2 weeks, I reviewed my UW notes and did the Kaplan notes once. I think I did some topics like respiratory, CVS and neurology twice. Even though I had crush step 2, I hardly used it. I want to thank the forum, coz even though I was not too active, I read the posts and discussions.

3535- Thanks. No question is a silly question. 1) I finished UW first time about 10 days before the exam. In the last 10days I did all the wrong answers again. 2)I did not read any step1 material again. On the other hand I just finished it last dec. Although I used step1 beh sci notes. I think whatever step 1 stuff you may need is covered in the step2 material.

congratulations for the ultimate score amygdalaa. hard work always pays and i have read on the posts how hard it was for you. you truly deserve it and its been really inspiring for mediocre guys like me. i hope i can do well too. for now i feel like i wanna postpone my exam by one month. i feel i need another reading. i am not able to recall things many times on many topics so i guess it'll be better for me to take the exam when i feel really good with my preparation. cngratulations once again and good luck with the rest of the exams and residency.

achilles-thanks for your kind words. It looks to me like you are pretty well prepared. But you have to take it when you feel you are ready. In my case I did not have much of a choice since I have to consider many factors to postpone. In the true sense, I never did feel ready :-). busy_mom-thank you for your kind words. The reason I posted my score and experience was so other people like me can be heartened and encouraged by my story :-). diyamirzah, msyamp, platinum, yareli, karusmle- thanks for your wishes.

MEI, 213/87 is a great score for Step 1. You can definitely build up on that score in Step 2 CK and do even better. What I would suggest is that armed with your fresh Step 1 knowledge set your target for a 90+ score in Step 2 CK and start studying ASAP for Step 2 CK Don't let the "Old Graduate" business bother you. You're only as OLD as you feel and want your self to be. So GO FOR IT!!!

mei, I agree with mymeghji, 87 is a great score and getting into residency depends on so many other factors. Being an 'old' grad and doing so well should work in your favor. Please go ahead and do your best for step 2.
