Is it B ??? ..as i have read that penicillin do not enter CNS unless meninges are inflamed ...as pyridostigmine is a quarternary amine therefore no CNS entry for erythromycin i haven't read anywhere that it crosses BBB...correct me if i am wrong...

C. Erythromycin because it is tetrogenic. Anything that is tetrogenic can cross the BBB.

hey tolito ,could you plz check about erythromycin on page 374 in lippincott's 3rd edition as it is written that Erythromycin distributes well to all body fluids except the CSF(BBB).moreover a picture is also given on the same page indicating that erythro, azithro and clarithromycin does not penetrate into CNS....guys plz clear it ....

well, i did check lippincott and it says ' erythromycin distributes well to all body fluids except CSF'. however, checking online, i got this link that says in the last line that erythromycin does cross better than penicillin and tetracycline http://www.thamburaj.com/bloodbrain.htm we are all agreed that pyridostigmine does not cross. so best answer remains erythromycin. about erythromycin being teratogenic, tetracycline too crosses placenta and spoils baby's teeth!!!

guys, I'm skeptical about the correct answer. I learned that tetracycline groups can go across placenta and blood brain barrier when I was a student and a representative of a pharmaceutical company. About Ery, its ability going across BBB is limited but this increases when meninges are inflamed.
