I am trying to prepare for this exam, since like 5 months now ,but havnt been preparing .finally started preparing 2 and a half months ago ,and it took me allll this time to just finish the 1st reading of physio ,with lotssss of big breaks here and there.
i started writing here so that i can promise my self, that i will do it ,i can do it ,i m not a lone in this ,sooo many ppl r doing it.
The next thing that i wana start is immuno and micro, i dunt know how long shd the 1st reading take ,but i ll try and give it a week ,may b 3 more days to finish it .lets see if i can do it.
i m working today and tomorrow ,so will try to read something aftr work ,at least the 1st few chapters.
good luck to me ,and all the ppl who r struggling.

yes seems, keep working hard ur future is now in ur own hands... u'll definitely make it.
Fix a target for urself, n enjoy a bit after target is achieved. This will keep u going.
n remember only moderate tension increases ur productivity... so try to b there

oh Godddddddddddd whats wrong.
the loong weekend got wasted.didnt do much in immuno ,too slow in reading ,i think i need the videos badly ,cz i started wz themnow i m used to it .i think i shd start some other subject.
oh ALLAH plzz help me .

dear seems. i dont know that have you taken the exam date or not but if u havent than do it as soon as possible. I was going the same way till i got exam date. it really puts pressure on you. You will have six months atleat and that is enough for a good prep.
Also i will advise to join a library. this exam is not like regular exam. it requires a very LENGTHY prep and at home you face distractions. small things that will ruin your mood to study.
Also devise a Study routine and follow it. Make a Study schedule and Follow it tighter.

u guessed it right ,i havnt taken an xxam date yet, i m still waiting to finsh my first redaing ,GOD knows how long will it take. i guess u r right. i shd take a date.
i graduated in 2005 and then got married,and after that just wasted my time.
i dunt have anything to do at home,no kids nothing,but still i m such a loser.i work for two days,and then the weekendjust gets wasted somehow,some time ppl comes spometime we go out and thats all i do.u said to make a timetable ,,i m horrible wz tables ,uless ther is pressure and someone make me do it,i wont ,actually i cant make a timetable,i cant.i guess i shd stop the job and as u said go to alibrary.u r right its not an ordinary exam.

i just finishd one small immuno chpter ,but i think i shd just switch to another chapter,i was thinking of biochem,what do u think.immuno my dvds r old and the notes r new so it dosnt make any sense.the new notes have a lot of genes and u know molecular biology,and the dvds dosnt have it.

inshallah you will do fine. everyone faces these problems. I think what you are doing is that you are spending most of your time on things that are not important but urgent. that is why you feel such a loser. I think this because i was doing same a little while ago. what you need to do is to switch to focusing on whats important. we cannot do everything. when i used to stay home for study, there wee always distractions. i thought that i will study good at home because i so in all med school exams. but than those preps were never more than a month long. this is huge. so i think going to library is very imp. go to library whole week and than you can or rather should take a day off in the end for relatives. you may find other people preparing for steps and this will be very motivating. Than again. take date. it will be very effective in putting things in focus. if you think you have no idea about your prep, take a date six months in advance, like of november / dec. you can extend it also so you have alot of time.
i think you hould finish the subjects you are good at first. as it will give you confidense and turn your mind on .

seems, dont get discouraged by immuno and biochem. I agree with malik. switch to something lively and something that you like. physiol is a good one. and also behav is not bad. even path is more rewardign than immuno and bioch. dont allow those 2 killers to get you down.

that really helped ,cz i tought i m the only dum one whio doesnt get it ,cz these 2 subjects really discouraged me .i finishd physio already ,i mean i just read it onece ,cz this is going to be my 1st reading of all the subjects ,ALLAH knows ewhen this 1st reading is gonna end ,but INSHA ALLAH sonn .
i m planning my exam in october november somewhere. u think by thne ill be done ,i hope so .
u think i shd start physio ,or mayb bahavorial sc ,thats a good idea .
cz pharma and bio chem and i think even immuno ,they ver volatile subjects ,so will do it at the end, that what my friend thinks ,she took the exam and got a 98.
plzz pray 4 me

i think you should do biochem before patho as it will be very helpfull in understanding the mechanisms. you can do pharm and immuno later. GL

u r right BS teacher is really fun to listen to .he is nice ,and not boring .i did a few chpters of BS but then ,i started wz biochem ,cz there a few ppl on this forum who were doing biochem ,so we made a group and keep a target every 3 day ,so that i know ill do it ,other wise all alone its difficult for me ,and as far as Bs is concened i can do it alone cz u knw its not boring.

hmm so im back
after long time.
was really busy ,and confused wz what to start.
finally met sum ppl on this forum,decidedt o satrt biochem.
we started and everyone is very enthusiastic, i was too ,but inbetween GOD knows what happend ,i lost tract.
i mean i was good ,didi th e1st 3 chapter wz th egrup, but now really lagging behind the schedual .
i m gonna try and od it today ,cz i got sumtime oday .
INSHA ALLAH i ll finsh chp4 today .
ohhh ALLAH plllzzzzz help me.
i dunt knwo why does that spirit of doing well die out after sumtime.
its just doesnt stay 4 long.
but today ill try and finsh this stupid chapter, ihate it ....... nonoi cant hate it ,i have to like it othrewise how wud understand it.
