what are adjuvants? Name a few adjuvants?

adjuvants are substances that enhance the immune response to the antigen(generally the vaccine). It could work either by functioning as a depot and hence long exposure increases immune response that is mounted for Ag. Also it could work by interacting with immune cells.
There are lot of adjuvants like Freunds's complete and incomplete adjuvants, substances with oil etc.. DPT has Aluminium hydroxide and salts which is an adjuvant enhancing the immune response to DPT.
