4) The table shows the distribution of spinal cord injuries and deaths by type of accident

(please see pic)

Based on these data, what is the case-fatality rate for highway traffic spinal cord injuries?

A) 54/69

B) 54/101

C) 54/155

D)78.3/100

E) 101/154

I think I originally answered A, but now I'm thinking B... can someone please explain the ratio - which numbers do you use. Is it supposed to be comparing one specific fatality to all fatalities or one specific fatality to all people who got an injury with the same accident that also caused that specific fatality? (did that make sense?!)

B

the case-fatality rate for highway traffic spinal cord injuries = deaths from highway traffic spinal cord injuries / total highway traffic spinal cord injuries
