Why does valsalva maneuver increase some murmurs and decrease others?

when it comes to MVP and HOCM what happens with valsalva is it reduces LV filling which increases obstuction in HOCM and increases balooning of mitral valve into LV in MVP so in these two accentuation of MURMUR occurs.
valsava will make make lung to take more blood and thus reducing venous return to the left atrium and ventricle causing the above effects.
