Dear bbb,

Would you please give me a piece of advice as to how to deal with this sensitive issue. I have contacted a PC by e-mail a month ago about an observership opportunity. She had e-mailed me back saying they would review the application in the next couple of weeks and that she would let me know. Time is passing by and I haven't heard from them. I do not want to be annoyingly persistent, I know they must be very busy( and on top of everything else it's a program I want to apply to in the fall), but on the other hand I really need to know so that to try and make other arrangements in case they say no, right?

So please advise me how to go about this. And how do I put this. I do not want to pressure or annoy, but on my end I am getting frustrated and I'm feeling like I'm running out of time and options. While waiting for their answer maybe I am missing out on other opportunities.

Thank you very much again for all your help!

A.

call and email shamelessly.. just be polite in saying u are following up on ur application. call once every 2weeks and email a couple of times in between.. dude its ur career - do u really care so much about some1s sensitivities (which again ur not sure of offending) to waste ur time... pick up the phone.. bein aggressive is always good.. provided u dont bug some1 everyday its ok..

I always use "I don't know if you received my mail/ message" " I am emailing you/calling you to touch basis about my application."i understand you are a busy person" and BS like that. Just be polite and 99.9% of the time you'll get an appropiate answer

Pete31 and Apurva have the correct answer - what wrong with a phone or another email?

Good luck
