A??

B, mayberolling eyes

There is more likely to have a linear relationship between height and weight because dots are condensed at the middle and distributed like a line at 45 degree. therefore coefficient = 1 is most suitable.

i guess r>0 as for r=1 it has to be straught line

  #8

so ans may be B

I think it is B. Look at the pics in the following links, you will get better idea

B

see a line - not equal zero
direction: positive (+)
when=1 it's MAX coreletion and a singl line
here is something close to a line, +0.6 is close enough

  #14

It's B, A should be a perfect line....

  #15

answer is b no second thoughts

ANswer is A you guys. Both A and B will have straight lines. In fact, all of them will have straight lines. Remember, it's the "average" line we are trying to draw here. THEY ARE ALL LINES. What matters is the SLOPE of the lines. If the line is a perfect 45degrees (meaning go up 1, go over 1), then it's a correlation of 1. The positive or negative signs only point at the direction in which the lines are drawn.

2nd point is how to distinguish if it's +1 or +0.60. Easy. This one goes up and goes to the right equal amount of squares. If it went up 6 but went to the right 10, then it would be 0.60 and the average line drawn would be more "flat", get it?

A..

The average line drawn through the dots would be approximately 45 degrees.

0.60 would be too 'flat' as tn1kinobe put it..and does not correspond to this graph.

initially i thot B and was 100% sure. but now i feel A is appropriate..

  #22

B... it definitely shows a positive correlation, but not as strong to be 1.0

  #23

B, weak posotive correlation
