What if the 30 year old woman is post-partum with uncomplicated pregnancy and is breast-feeding and developed nerveousness, insomnia, heat intolerance. Lab shows Serum free T4 : 49.7 pmol/L Serum TSH <0.01 uU/mL Antithyroid peroxidase antibodies 32.0U/mL How do you treat this post-partum woman who is breast-feeding ? Excellent question !!!!!!

Can you use PTU after birth? I found it's safe in pregnancy. Kap Notes: "antithyroid drugs such as propylthiouracil (PTU is safe in pregnancy)" But it doesn't say anything about postpartum management.
