A 42-year-old man with pneumococcal pneumonia has acute fibrinous pleuritis. Which of the following proteolytic enzymes is required to eliminate the exudate and restore normal pleural anatomy?

A) Collagenase

B) Plasmin

C) Stromeolysin

D) Thrombin

iam not sure but logicaly must be collagenase A

Why not PLASMIN? [plasmin is fibrinolytic & converts fibrin to fibrin split products ]

i can see how collagenase can restore the anatomy - but does it break down the exudate as well?

actual enzyme is hyluronidase which breaks hyluronic acid which is the part of collagen so collaginase is best option
