B for sure. [in DiGeorge syndrome immunoglobulin levels are normal and T Lymphocytes are decreased. Absence of thymus is noticed as mediastinal widening]

I agree with everything EXCEPT that the shadow should be narrowed. DiGeorge Syndrome has thymus aplasia! Here is what I found. "X-ray examination of the chest may reveal congenital malformation of the heart and vessels and absence of thymic shadow." from: http://npi.jmfworld.org/patienttopatient/index.cf...

Nadia, it is not widened mediastinum. in this case mediastinum is normal, but because of thymus absence, mediastinum's SHADOW is widened on Xray or other imagings.

thanks robin. but I'm actually talking about radiologic findings, not widened in reality. I'd better say when thymus is absent why the shadow of mediastinum seems wider??
