ppl in the study group, are u only using kaplan anat.. how abt high yield for the neuroanat part...plus i have no idea abt the embryo and histo part..helpppppppppppppppp

hi everyone - I'm lagging a little cos I worked today. Will finish it tonight though. One question - I was just doing Kaplan and then after I did the general cell stuff I tried to answer the questions in Board review - Basic histology- Paulson and could only answer 40%. I can see I'm very rusty compared to most people. Anyway am going to persevere with our schedule and as I'm appearing in Aug compared to most of the group in April, I'm hoping to revise again later. How is everyone else doing?

hi all....i suppose everyone must have histo/cyto taken care of....I was wondering if anyone has ideas for how to discuss topics and debate some MCQ's. I would like everybody in this group to be more active and moderating than passive and accepting. Saturdaywas the deadline for last topics, sunday on I started with embryo...my idea is to be done with it by tuesday night.
This is not a kaplan only grp...study whatever books u want to...i did lay out the topics in kaplan(histo/cyto) for benefit of others.
I stress, the formation of a group is to intermingle thought, preparation strategies and encourage others to the same. When one is giving the step1, is unimportant...so long we all study for that..and study well.
So lets kick bu*t together and thrash step1.
suggestions?? strategies required!

I was struggling by myself, reading for sometime then stop whenever I feel bored(not tired!); but when I saw your plan, I Wanted to follow it and this time it was different; I didn't feel bored because I had to meet the deadline with you guys!

today we should finish embryo....sect3 is gross anat...that will be starting wed till saturday night....i would suggest to read HY gross anat too...any suggestions on how to discuss?? we can do that tonight.
recount: we have done with histo/cyto and embryo by tonight...

To discuss the subjects we could use a chat service, x.e. there is a website called www.volano.com where we can create our own private chatroom called x.e "step 1" and the person can get to that chatroom by putting a nickname and the name of the private chatroom x.e. "step 1", it seems an easy way I guess. If everyone follows the indications we can meet there every weekend and discuss the subject we studied for the whole week, or maybe every 3 or 4 days, lot of questions...
It could be something like this....
1. www.volano.com
2. "chat" (click)
3. "personal rooms" (click)
4. In "Personal Chat Room Applications" fill the blanks with your "name" or nickname and "profile" x.e: Step 1
5. after fill those blanks just click on "volano" and there you go to the private chatroom for step 1
Tell me if you like the idea ok. But we can only discuss the subjects and make questions in a chatroom meeting, cause is direct and everybody can see the questions and discussion at the same time.
Let me know if there is another chatservice where we can meet.

I beleive kris2c's chat room idea may prove effective....I'm in for the chat discussions..we can meet this weekend after we finish gross anat...that way we will have something concrete to discuss also..all those in for this voice out....friday we shall open a private chat room and time it for all to be in it on sat..hope it works!!

Tell me at what time? this friday right?
And something else, Just in case we can't create this chat group "step 1", let's just do this:
1. www.volano.com
2. chat (click)
3. Just click again on the button "Volano" that says "click button to start"
and
go to the "Dutch Chat" it seems to be empty all the time so we can use it as our chat group, unless somebody can help and figure out how to create our own chatroom "step 1"
Please let us know if you have some ideas ok.

I just checked out the web site - looks like you need to buy space to create your own room. So how about we use the Dutch room as suggested - also -I'm in Alberta - Canada - thats - MST - so in order to co-ordinate schedules can we meet at 8pm +1 Mountain time ? - thats 8 W coastal, 9 central and 10 eastern?
