Yea, I think A is the only one that makes sense from the choices given, but I thought the problem in Gout was with Xanthine Oxidase? Anyway, ADA is also in the pathway, so I guess thats right.

I think the answer is actually E. In this case the overproduction of urate is comming from an overproduction of Purines due to the lack od feedback inhibition on the rate limiting enzyme of this pathway prpp synthase. AMP and GMP inhibit PRPP synthase as they are the final products of purine synthesis

OH, I think yfel is right... I just saw that pathway again (De Novo Purine Synthesis), and AMP and GMP have negative feedback on PPRP Amidotransferase, not PPRP synthase which is the enxyme that is one step before it. However this is the closest possibility so it may be the right answer... Any other guesses anyone??

after a sort of reseach.....i will also go with PRPP ...i.e E.but the exact answer shud be amidotransferase....not there in choices i suppose.

is prpp synthetase mentioned in kaplan? i wanna know coz i wanna see the dif in significance of the two enzymes
