hi all....i am posting the message whihc i posted in usmle.net...received my scores...am happy with it.... from usmle.net...... hello there....got my score today...couldnt believe it..made 250/99......took the exam on nov 26....oasis was updated n dec18.....received the scores today in person...the one ecfmg mailed out was lost...so had to pick it up in person from the office.... regarding the exam.....i thought i did okay....didnt fell that good but wasnt sad either....i think i made around 50-60 questions wrong.....the other questions were okay...gt lots of path and physiologu....many mole biology and genetics too...little anatomy.....behav sci was mostly doctor-patient relationship questions.....biostats was very easy...simple sensitivity and incidence calculations.....lots of CTs and MRIs....concnetrate on neuroanat and immunology.....micro was straight forward but in a clinical format...... i think the exam is doable and if the basics are stronf thne you can get a very good score.....repeat the subjects..try to undertsand....be thorouhg in the basics..... qbank average- 76 kaplan simulated 77 blackwell-75 NBME- 450 and 640 USMLE CD- 45. 44 and 46 studies the following books.... BRS path BRS physio BRS behav sci Lippincott for pharm and biochme HY for anat, neuroan, mol biology Kaplan- genetics First aid---studies only the last 2 days Micro- first aid immunology- levinson 80 pages goodluck for everyone who is taking the test and for those who are waiting for their scores......waiting was very frustating....hopefully everyone of you should get a good sclore that they are happy with.....let me know if you need more info...thanks...

Congratulations! What was your starting score (the first few blocks) in the Kaplan qbank? What was your final score (the last few blocks)? I mean the percentages of correct. I am doing Kaplan now and half way through. I am only scoring around 66%, accumulate average is 63%. My weakest topics are gross anatomy and behavior. What is my chance to get a descent score in the real test? I have 2 more months to go. Thank you very much for your reply.

my first 5-6 blocks wre around 65-68.......some were very bad.....the lowest i got was 58.....it had a lot of genetics and behav sci in that block....those were my weakest subjects......later on i was making around 74-80....path,phys and pharm were my strongest...so as it got to the blocks where these 3 subjects were dominant i was scoring higher.....concentrate on the weaker ones...read the explanation to the answers well....they are really good....goodluck....you have enough time to strengthen your subjects.....

Hi Drswam Congrats on ur great score Could u tell me whether u read any Kaplan lecture notes or simply read only the BRS and other books u listed Also do u think Kaplan Q bank helped? I have cds of previous Q banks. Is subscrbing to them advisable. Thanks in advance.

i studied only those books that i have listed in my message....i borrowed kaplan genetics from my friend....didnt do any of the other subjects from kaplan.... regarding q bank....if yo want to practice in the exam mode and have your timing righ in the exam then it is advisable to subscribe...but if yo have other sources through you which you can practice...then just read all the answers well from the qbank cd...i am not sure if they update the questions and improve it every year.....goodluck....

hello mistral92.... i work full time...so didnt have time to study for 10 hrs/day.....used to come back from work at5....would pick around 5-6 hrs a day.... i studied once and revised once.....brs path was enough for me since i always was happy wiht path...path, pharm and physio wre my favorites....never had trouble wiht those....so felt brs for path and physio was enough...for pharm lippincott was excess but then should know whihc ones to omit and whihc ones to concentrate..... i read frist aid on the last couple of days only...did micro from first aid only.....immuno from levinson.....for behav sci..did only brs...dont know about HY....goodluck and hope you get more than 88...... :P ...thanks for the generous offer anyway...goodluck to you.....
