Hi everybody I was a silent reader of this forum esp. exam experience & would like to thank all of u, I learnt a lot from ur posts About my preparation I studied for around 5-6 months but my case was different I studied hard in start n in last month i.e. April I was very calm coz I already studied a lot for my exam. I used to go to library for my study coz I was unable to study at home… Books I used: Patho: Kaplan, BRS, Goljan Physio: Kaplan, BRS (endo & cardio) Pharma: Kaplan Biochem: Kaplan Micro: Kaplan Anatomy: Kaplan, HY for Neuro, gross, embryo, histo BS: Kaplan, HY Biostatics & BS Mol Biology: HY & Kaplan For questions I used Kaplan Q-book & Q-bank apart from it I also did goljan mcqs NMS & forum qs too. I reread all my books esp. Kaplan for 4-5 times that helped me a lot. And all of u, who find cramming a difficult task then go for rereading ur Kaplan u will automatically learn it. Now something abt exam I wrote my exam day before yesterday, yeah I agree with all of u who say that they mostly ask for concepts & for that reason I think Kaplan is the Best bcoz In Kaplan everything is given in a way that will build up ur concept. In my exam there were lots of picx & graphs…patho was heavily tested then physio. endo was tested but was very easy hormones MOA, DP relationship was always a problem for me then on exam I think few will b right rest I am unsure….i got 3-4 questions of biostatics which were simple, gross anatomy was least tested, same for neuro, histo, embryo….abt mol biology it was ok, fortunately I didn’t get much of calculation questions coz that was always a problem for me (not even a single one from pharma) n yeah there were things which I have never heard before so I just made a guess….pharma simple questions of MOA of drugs yeah they do ask for some weird drugs but if u r doing Kaplan then u can do it. All in all I am finished with my exam but I would surely say that this exam is for concepts they usually ask questions in the form of graphs or research oriented which can b answered only if u have good concept, yeah for patho u have to identify disease for which u need cramming same for pharma. One more thing I also gave NBME abt 3-4 weeks before my exam to see where I am. To my surprise I got one question from that!!!! Best of luck all of u & take care

hi brain.. i just look at FA during my studies it was not my sole platform i just used mnemonics they r very useful in recalling during exam. FA is definately very good but it depends on person to person for me kaplan was always a first choice..

hi img05.. i used to study for around 6-7hrs/day but it depends sometimes i didnt feel like studying n took day off say every 10-15 days...n yeah prep depends on how fast u study i.e how many pages/day revision is VERY IMPORTANT coz it helps in consolidation i revised 4-5 times (apart from 10 days before my exam in which i just skimmed over the subjects) hope it helps Good luck

wish you good scores and thanks for sharing your experience. it is comforting to know that the questions were doable and also that one may not get more than a few neuro questions!!! GL at step 2.

hi img05 i started studeid from nov 05 studied for 5-6 months my first read was finished in around 2 months...then gave 2 more reading n then did Qbank where i was scoring 70-80% u want to give in nov which means around 6 months time period & i think is a very decent time period. just make a plan say u started with physio on 15th n make a plan that u will finish on 25th n try to finish by that time...just trust on urself, if u r satisfied with ur studies that means u r going on a right track... so best of luck for ur prep

hi crew thanks no i wont advice for this coz if u will go thru text books then u will b lost...these reviews books r very helpful esp kaplan...yeah u can c text book for ur queires i used to open lipincott for pharma, biochem and robbins for patho whenever i got some confusion, so i would say just stick to kaplan and where u feel that u want more to get a clear concept then open text book.. GL
