Whats the difference between passive agressive defense mechanism and isolation of affect? (Please give examples other then kaplan)

Passive-aggressive as I understand it is being unconsciously mean or not keeping promises. e.g. I will give you a ride to the testing center and you end up calling a cab at the last mns. Isolation of affects, is when the person become totally insensitive to the emotion that are expected to accompany a situation: lets say you are on your knees and ask a long time girl-friend to marry you after a romantic dinner, candles and roses ... and all she says is OK, without a smile, a sparkle in her eyes or anything not even anger. Run :lol:

Passive agressive defence's another example would be being really agressive about an illness or something, going to the doctor for it but then being non-compliant to the therapy. Isolation defence mechanism would also be explained by detaching one's feeling from any event, e.g defining a graphic murder without any emotional response. :idea:
