Hi all,

I thought I share with you my step1 experience.

I am an IMG and I prepared horribly for the step1:

1- I studied for it ONLY 3 weeks.
2- I ONLY studied First aid and nothing else
3- Did not solve any banks of questions (except the usmle cd that came with the registration)
4- Only managed to sleep 3 hours before the exam.

I had so much trouble concentrating after about 4-5 hours in the exam because my eyes were so sleepy and tired.

After I finished the exam, I had this sure feeling I was going to fail the exam.

Final result = 83 / 203.

Some may say it's not that bad, others will say that is sux and won't give a decent chance for a residency chance especially me being an IMG. My only regret is I wish i planned more for this exam and prepared for it.

I so hope I haven't completely ruined my chances for an IM residency, me being an IMG.

The biggest advice I give to all is : GET A DECENT NIGHT SLEEP before the exam!!! Can't stress that enough.

Good luck to all.

Thanks again smiling face

For all who are still struggling with preparing for the Step1, remember....First Aid is an excellent resource especially if you are short on time. It helped me pass against all odds.
