hi guys my scores in step1/step2 is 78/76 im green card holder,a fresh graduate from India, dont have any usce but have taught in elementary school in the us as a subsitute science teacher, and i have also volunteered in mother Teresa's missionary in India, will all this help in getting match for peds? do i have any chance in getting into residency anywhere in the us?

ur visa status will take ur places ur scores cant.. be ready for fp.. im sure there are many peds progs who might take u in in light of ur work with kids.. try for usce.. but apply widely to fp also - most fp progs dont sponsor visas.. i know ppl with similar scores and gc who got into fp.. not sure about peds - ask the peds specialists here like sanz or vic... also try for 85+ in s3 althoh u dont need it.. apurva

thank u Apurva, i need friends like u. i have already applied for externship in many hospitals in chicago, dont have any contacts...so no one is calling me back, is there any easier way for usce

Hi I am familiar with chicago hospitals. here you will find very very difficult to get observership, let alone externship esp in peds as Illinois board is very strict about it. so try to get research. try to volunteer for anything. develop contact with senior peds faculty and take it from there.
