hi dr_ecv, welcome to canada. are you new here or you have been here for some time now. i am in mississauga but i am currently preparing for step 2. planning to give step 1 around end of august. hopefully we can team up after my step 2. but i plan to read only from kaplan notes. let me know your plans and about your strategy for the step 1. good luck with your reading.

Hi, I am not a PR currently but have applied for the same, hopefully I should be getting the same by the end this yr or early next year, been in canada for 6 months and am in North York. I am thinking of writing the step I in nov and step 2 ck 3-4 months after that. i awnted to get with the step I first as its going to be more tough..long time old graduate. My mail id is dr_ecv@yahoo.ca I have the BRS which I plan to use for a couple of subjects and kaplan and different books for others. But i plan on keeping just one primary source for each subject as otherwise it creates too much confusion. keep in touch, when r u planning to leave for India?

good to see yu here drpkaur. hope your preparation is going on good. i am going to start for step 1 after my step 2. so hope we all can get together here and help each other in preparing for the step 1 which i know is going to be very tough as it has been a while since i touched upon basic sciences. dr_ecv, i will be taking my step 2 ck sometime in the last week of july. i hope we can get together after that. lets keep this post more active and stay in touch folks. let make it a common place for all the IMG torontonians preparing for the USMLE and canada exams. good luck to all.

Hi achilles. drpkaur. good to see people around here from our place studying for the same exam,,fighting the same battle. Good luck to you achilles for your step II. Hope to c u here for step I after that. I want to sit for my exam in nov, do not want to delay it too long , so am trying to gain speed for studying. Maybe after your ste II we can discuss things and get more in touch.

Hi I am an IMG going to be a Canadian Landed Immigrant soon. I want to know that why you people staying in Canada are preparing for USMLE instead of MCCEE? What is the situation like for IMGs? Will you have any advantage of having Canadian Citizenship in securing a place in US residencies?

hey its good to see more people in this post. thanks drecv for the wishes and yes we'll try and get together after my step 2. srf, the more i know you the more i want to know about you !! i am from baroda too and i think there is every chance that we may have even sat together and had chai at harish ki lari together. i did my graduation from karamsad though. what happened to your journal srf, i cant find it anymore.it was one of the best prep journals i had read. to oldkid, canada has very less number of residency spots so it is much more difficult. i have cleared the mccee and just gave my mccqe1 in may this year and am waiting for the results. i'll take it from there after whatever result i get in mccqe1.

Hi achilles, baroda, my best years of life were spent there from year 1978 to 1985.I love that city . my son is at karamsad. I wanted to edit my journal but I could not retrieve its pages. I want to continue it, but how to do that is unknown to me. your words made me try again ,I could do it.
