I want to schedule my CS exam on october 30, 2006 - is it too late if I want to participate in MATCH 2007 and if it's so - when do you recommend to schedule it? how much time will it take for me to get CS result - more than 2 months?
the problem is that I want to have enough time for the decent preparation of Step 2 CK - I plan to take it to the end of september; also, is 1 month enough time for the preparation of CS (UW + FA)?
please, help me.

if u take the CS in oct, the earliest day u can get result is dec 6th, latest being jan 3rd,07...dec 6th is alright i think..u will be certified by 1st week of january...the only way to have ur result declared earlier is to take the exam on/before sept 9th(u will get result on oct 11th)

1 month of prep is certainly enough and UW and FA are the best available material..i used both...i don't know if i have passed, but almost all cases were in one or the other of the 2 sources.

thank you, an, your post is very helpful - so, if I'll take CS in this time frame - Sep 10 through Nov 4 (it doesn't matter in the beginning of it or to the end?) - I may be either certified (if I'll get my CS result before Jan 1) or may not be certified as well, to participate in MATCH 2007?

ecfmg claims most results will be out on the first day, i.e. dec 6th for sept 10-nov 4...but not all of them. even if ur result gets declared on the 3rd jan, u would still get certified by first week of feb...which should be ok.
