sounds like oral thrush
but is that common in this age group?
perineum sounds like a likely place for candida too

sorry for not posting the answer earlier.
It is D. Perineum - candida
good work msyamp and jinx.

doesn't candidiasis get scraped off much easily and then the underlying surface bleeds. i thought this was leukoplakia(which doesn't get scrapped off easily) and oral leukoplakia is associated with EBV which is associated with nasopharyngeal Ca.

candida is common cause of oral thrush and diaper dermititis in infants. Thrush consists of white, curdlike plaques on tongue, gums and buccal mucosa that are difficult to remove, skin manifestations include a beefy red maculopapular rash that may coalasce and form a sort of sattelite lesions. Intriginous area especially the diaper area -perinium is often involved.
leukoplakia ! I think it would not show any maifestation in this age group except for that rare hairy leukoplakia in HIV infected children, I am not sure on this -please correct if I am wrong. I hope this explanation helps , i hope others will also contribute to clear your doubts achilles.
