what is the treatment for someone who has sudden movements during sleep?

  #2

Are these "Sudden moments" in REM sleep (nightmares, sleep walking?) or in Non Rem sleep (night terror) , So you use either Non Rem suppresants (benzodiazipine i think) or REM suppressant (TCA's i think) ( sorry its been sometime i read this stuff so i am not sure about the drugs)

If you are thinking of "restless leg syndrome", the best treatment is with a beta - blocker.nod

thanks guys. A lady whose husband throws leg and arm aroun during sleep asked me the treatment. I don't know about the stage. As far as I know body movements happen in that stage when we don't have sleep paralysis!

i agree it is likely to be RLS formerly myoclonus. it appears like the drug options for restless leg syndrome incl

1. anti parkinsonism drugs

2. opioids

3. sedative hypnotics

4. anti epileptic

dera tolito thanks but it's not RLS! It happens just during sleep, after falling asleep completely. There is a Q in Qbook that represent the case like this and it's REM sleep disorder. When the patient dreams a violent one so he acts out his dream and may injure his sleep partner.
