i hv been a silent member since quite a few months. well as for me this will be my 3 rd attempt !! thanks to all of u to help me decide on still fighting my battle. this time i m joining kaplan vidoes course.
can sme1 help me on this 1 rt now, what is best ? step up or usmle secrets or pathophysilogy boards and wards???? i m confused rt now. even if i have to study a few more book i think i should as this is my 3rd attempt. but the ques is is it good for me and which one???

sorry i guess i forgot writting step 1 !! ya its step1 usmle secrets or is step up for step 1 better ?? is pathophy boards and wards good for me when this is my 3rd chance for step 1?

hi thinkpositive...i have not taken the exam yet but at the beginning of my prep i bought a crap load of books including secrets, boards & wards, and step-up since they were highly rated on step 1. the only one i still read every now and then is secrets. boards & wards doesnt decide between being clinical or being basic science. step-up has several flagrant errors. don't waste your money on these.

for general review you can also try just released 'High-Yield Comprehensive USMLE Step 1 Review', by Fadem, 384p.

Yes- general malaise has the rank order correct [ordinal,(smile) First- usmle secrets-step1, #2-pathophysiology for the boards and wards and dead last "step up" as said 1st edition was scathed with errors and never quite got its reputation back although some liked the systemic approach.
Must say -we can all but books till the cows come home.
