To those who remember me I was on here ALOT discussing TONS of NBME ?s before sitting for the exam on April 10th. I took all four NBMEs and I can honestly say that my exam experience was different. I thought NBME 1 and 2 were very straightforward...read the question find the answer. I thought NBME 3 was too much reading and content was just stuff you have never read before. NBME 4 was to me trickier ie alot more attention to detail. My scores on them were 480, 450, 400 and 410 respectively. All passing scores but not comfortably. I also did the USMLE CD, which is mostly shorter ?s, with scores of 42, 36, 40. Nonetheless I passed with a 204/83. I left the exam not knowing what to think. The reason was that it was not straightforward at all. I would read a ? and then use the answers to LOGICALLY come up with an answer. It became annoying after the 5th block. There were probably a handful of questions that I read and then BAM I was able to pick out the answer. Seriously, about 7-8 out of 350 were like this. Everything else had to be thought out patiently. I had two repeated questions from the USMLE CD and I recognized 3 questions with charts/diagrams taken from the NBME exams but the question asked was changed. I finished all the blocks with under 5 minutes left. I was not rushed but I made sure I did not make a point to mark every ? I did not know. I tried answering everything the first time I got to the ?. Bottom line is, you may walk out not knowing how you did because it is impossible to know. You just have to be confident that you know the material and your logic made sense when answering ?s. I could be disappointed in my score but I am just as eager to start rotations. Good Luck
