beta agonists stimulate adenyl cyclase
theophylline inhibits phosphodiesterase

Okay, reading some of your posts is giving me a stomach ache just thinking about you being physicians! I don't mean to offend anyone just how I feel! As for the reply from drsnq, please disregard his answer, theophylline does NOT decrease cAMP, that is NOT true. Theophylline inhibits PDA (phosphodiesterase--which breaks down cAMP) as does caffiene. Please do NOT post answers that are WRONG or Misleading as some people may become confused or actually remember YOUR WRONG answer while taking an exam! Be 100% certain PLEASE for all our sakes and your patients sake most of all!!!! Now to Answer the question. The answer is A) Albuterol (Beta agonists which act sympathomimetically to increase adenylate cyclase via Gs subunit) B) is a steriod C) decreases mast cell degranulation D) Is an Anti-muscarinic drug which acts via Gq subunit on M3 receptor. Similar to atropine. E) Theophylline is a PDE inhibitor which increases cAMP which will actually decrease adenylate cylase via feedback inhibition! Hope this helps.
