hello,
i wanted a piece of advice as to by which month at the most should one be ECFMG certified(get the original medical diploma verified) .is it before match (ie in feb) or before joining in the residency program (thats in july).
actually i hav finished with the internship but my college will isssue the degree (original)not before jan,2007 and i wanted to go for the match in 2007. acccording to ecfmg policy they wont accept the provisional degrees (that my college is ready to issue)so its actually worrying me if i can make for the match next year. without ecfmg certification my interview call would also b limited .i really fear i will have to wait for a year to get my degree and then only embark for residency.
please if possible take out some time from ur busy schedule to advice me what i can do to make it for the match next year.

hey! are u from india? if yes, maybe my experinence shall help.
i was in a similar situation and decided to talk to the dean of my medical school. he guided me through the procedure to get the degree certificate released from the university on a prioritized basis. try this route if possible.

thanks xavier for ur reply.yes i m from india. actuallly i did talk to my dean n VC abt it n they r not willling to help anyways wishing u sucesss in life ahead
