Hi,
I have started the UW few days ago and I have done 6 blocks of 46 questions, all specialities, timed, unused.
My score range is 46-52% and the overall at this point is 49.64%.
I have watched the Kaplan tapes once, but didn't really go through the lecture notes. I did not watch the pediatrics tape and didn't read the peds lecture notes as well.
My exam date is June 15.
I'm somehow confused at this point on how to continue.
- Should I stop doing tests and read all the lecture notes once and then get back to test? OR
- I should continue with the test and study the lecture notes everyday after I'm done with 2 blocks a day?
Is UW alone enough to score above 85?
What do you think about my score on UW? is it very below average? the reason that I can't tell by looking at the average result from the UW is that I found out that many of students do the tests in other ways. like untimed, or by subject or even tutor. That will increase the average of the tests.
I really appreciate any advice from anyone who have experience with this step.

Keep going with UW, better by subject to see where are your weaknesses, and study the answers after each test (I'm making notes as well) and you should have an increase in scores within 2 weeks. Peds is the second heavy tested subject on step 2CK so it would be a good idea to do some reading. All the best with your exam!

Thank you for your quick reply. I am also taking notes while I'm doing the tests.
Do you suggest doing peds from the kaplan lecture notes or do you think that First Aid for peds is enough?
What about other subjects, do you think that it is enough to do the First Aid instead of Kaplan notes?

It depends on your background. I don't use FA for step 2 CK at all so I don't know about it. For Peds I'm doing Kaplan and fill the gaps with Blueprints. A very good book for last weeks review is Review for Boards and Wards but it might not be a good idea to start reading something new so close to your exam date. All the best with your exam!
