i read that referrals are not allowed .but can i tell an alcoholic.......would you like to talk to a counsellor or go to a support group.......i read this in uw.....and found it contradictory about what they say regarding referrals.

Yes you have to council the patient and in the process you may mantion AA not refer the patient to it but make it part of the counciling or just say support group.
