first,.......first aid says that it is better to drape the patient at the beginning of the encounter rather than waiting till you begin PE.......now how do you go about it?
say....you enter the room...you have addressed the patient by name and introduced yourself........then if you intend to drape.......what statement do you make....? and do you have to wash your hands before you drape him/her ?

Just drape. I think anyone who is half naked would appreciate being cover as much as possible. Just mention that you will be putting the drape ask if it's alright with him or her. Wash your hands only before the physical examination.
